No I do not because the largest constituency within the party are white males, and evangelical Christians.

I mean I have never voted Republican in my life... I am a left leaning Independent that hasn't votes since 1996. But this go around I will vote Republican up and down the ballot. Its not that I do not support Women Rights, and yes I disagree with the over turning of Roe vs Wade... but as a white heterosexual male that makes over 6 figures annual income... I am pissed at Dems.

Dems have lost focus, they cater and pander to LGBTQ, do nothing about taxes, they pander to social in justice causes... I am fine with gay marriage, I am all about social justice to, but it should not be achieved at the expense of law enforcement, and I can be pro-gay rights and anti-LGBTQ. I am find with LGB part, but the rest is not good for our society and runs against everything our society and culture is based upon morally and ethically... we just can pop up and identify as being a cat to get out of paying taxes because cats don't pay taxes, then expect everyone to change our litter boxes for us. Gender is not a concept its a FACT! And DNA test will prove that, they say trust the science until the science tells then something they don't like so then they want to rearrange the concepts around the science to change the science.

We are a country of laws, and those laws have to be enforced. If immigrants are caught entering the border illegally, and not attempting to do it through a illegal port of entry... the needy to be sent back. That's the law. They are not legal citizens they should not be entitled to all the same protections that tax paying citizens are entitled to, and its not racist either. If you are citizens you should be entitle to the full protection of the law, and if you are not then you are not... doesn't matter if your white, brown or black. So enforce the laws. If they do not like the laws then change the laws, but Dems are not doing that are they?

So at the end of the day, Dems are offering me as white male absolutely nothing. Trump won in 2016 because he went to swing states and spoke directly to disenfranchised white voters. Biden won in 2020 because he was not Trump... but I do no think the Dems really got the message, because they are doubling down on all the wrong things, and this time Trump is not on the ballet.

By not voting my voice will not be heard, but by voting straight Repub, yeah I think the Dems will start to wake up and smell the coffee and pull there heads out of their asses.

They didn't restrict the rights. They never had the power to make the decision in the first place. Also in a lot of ways we have a hell of a lot more say at the state level then we ever do at a federal level. Basically everything at the federal level is a sweeping decision that like it or not everyone is stuck with. About the only way to have any real impact on a federal decision is a very large unified effort of citizens. More or less a large enough group unified group large enough that our elected officials at the federal level can't ignore.

In general that in a lot of ways is why the civil rights movement was successful as it was. The number of people marching and at the civil rights events was too large to ignore. Many officials opposed to it or not knew that if they ignored it, there would be hell to pay. So they had zero choice but to make changes. Also that is why our elected officials on both sides of the isle and our mainstream media are doing everything they can to create conflict using party based politics and creating racial and social issues for us to fight over.

They do it to prevent a large unified group of citizens that is too large for them and their campaign funders to ignore.

It will probably hurt them. Voter registration among women and young people has risen considerably in response, which are not the demographics the GOP wants to see. It also effectively eliminated a wedge issue the party used for decades to drive the religious right to the polls. Privately, Republican leadership never wanted to see Roe overturned. They just wanted to be able to dangle it in front of voters to manipulate them (Like democrats do with gun control). Historically the midterms are kind to the party out of power but this is going to temper that……as will the roaring dumpster fire clown show that is Donald Trump. How much remains to be seen.

I think people who would prefer the right to kill the babies for their personal pleasure wherever they want over other people being able to put food on the table anywhere are not civilized people whom you should w ant to share any kind of Government with.

If this be the new priorities you can expect we will by necessity of safety be moving further apart from such maniacs, and will eventually require walls to keep them away from us.
For their lack of regard for life and prioritization of personal pleasure and immediate happiness seems to also have the habit of destroying the livability of their states compelling them to invade ours.

Voters don't think that way.

Republicans have always known this. That's why you force people think and strategize. Liberals can't stay focused on one issue for longer than two seconds, much less two decades. The strategy to overturn Roe was crafted over years. That takes planning. Only Conservatives can unite and create that kind of long term strategy. Kansas, the deepest of red states voted to keep abortion, and it wasn't even close, 59% to 41%. That's why they will never made it a nationwide referendum. They will just keep it in the courts and force libs to create legislation.

Okay, once again: the Supreme Court overturned Roe on the basis of it violating the tenth Amendment. That means they said the Federal government CAN'T make laws about it. You could give every seat in Congress to a Republican, and it would make no difference, so far as abortion is concerned.

That this also restricts Congress from enacting laws BANNING abortion doesn't seem to have entered the minds of the perpetually enraged, but then, they're not known for thinking clearly. They're bitching about being given more power.

It hurt them already. Even though I'm a republican and always will be, I was against the supreme court ruling because it would hurt republicans politically. It's probably the biggest mistake they made in the 21st century. Governors could've ignored it and kept things the way they were, but unfortunately some went too far. There is a minority of voters who want full restriction, a minority who want no restriction at all, but majority are somewhere in the middle. It's either 15 or 18 weeks I believe. Republicans realized it was a mistake and that could be why Lindsey Graham proposed a compromise for the federal 15-week ban with exceptions to threat to the mother, rape, and incest. It's still not as simple as it sounds, but regardless, it was a big mistake. I'm very worried.

Maybe but it was a good thing for roe v Wade being over turned, next should be obergefell vs Hodges there is no constitutional right to gay marriage regardless if you agree with gay marriage or not gay marriage is a state issue not a federal issue. Personally I have no issues with gays getting married my issue is SCOTUS making up a law saying all states have to have gay marriage be legal. The thing is that taking a hard stance against abortion will not gain them any significant number of votes, because most of the anti-abortion crowd will vote for them anyway. But it will lose votes for them. It's a net loss.

No, the general consensus among political analysts is that it might help Republicans. Democratic states like New York and California will stay Democratic anyway. Republican states will probably stay Republican. It's the purple states that are shared by Democrats and Republicans that may go more Republican, since More Republicans may vote, now that their voice has been heard.

@Hispanic-Cool-Guy That's primarily a concern of liberal women, who rarely vote Republican anyway. There are many middle of the road and conservative women who support restrictions on abortion, and that's the group that's likely to vote more Republican than Democrat.

Re your update. Despite what the media may tell us, abortion is not the major concern of voters, who have the economy, health care and security as important items. Plus, people voting in federal elections won't change state-created abortion laws, and besides, Lindsay Grahsm has put a reasonsble compromise out there that restricts, but doesn't ban, abortion, and allows for some exceptions.

Although not understanding the relevance of that kind of question, sure is that using the sensitive subject of abortion to gain votes is deeply immoral and silly at the same time. Abortion is a moral and ethical problem only concerning a woman and her doctor. If some political party, whatever tendency, needs to resort to such a difficult intimate subject, it can only mean they have nothing serious to offer on the practical side of citizens' life.
