What I am more concerned about is the hoarding of QE2 stuff.
All the stamps and coins the world over have had a profile of ER II ("Elizabeth Regina II" - Latin for Queen Elizabeth II) on money and stamps for 70 years. All that will stop as it will all change over to King Charles III aka CRIII ("Charles Rex III"). Thus, you have to expect that people will start hoarding these old coins and stamps as they become valuable in the generations ahead.
I'm wondering if the CRIII things will become more valuable because they will be rarer. The ERII items have been around for 70 years and there are millions of them.
This is true. Elizabeth 2 coins and stamps are plentiful, but that won't prevent them from being hoarded over time because lots of coins will be taken out of circulation by each country's mint and stamps are used and end up in the garbage. So, over time, these items will become more rare.
Just as an example, examine the quarters you have. Now, see how many are eagle-backed? Probably less than 1/5th by now. The last eagle-back quarters were made around 1998, so that's almost 25 years since the US Mint started varying the backs of quarters. And Lord knows the last time we've seen a Bicentennial quarter.
People don't have money to spend. They are struggling to get by. Wages are down, inflation is up, petrol/diesel is up, gas is up, electric is up, tax is going up, food prices are up. People are wondering how they are going to make it through the winter you know a choice between heating and eating.
I’m choosing eating and using the polar method.
@Midgetmcwidget polar method? Like sex?
Polar bears eat a lot and become fatties to keep warm. No idea what you mean in relation to sex….
Have pity on all those shops that prebought stuff for the queen's 100th birthday
Charles the turd will send the economy down the shitter

Well, as long as there aren't any "King Charles Towers", "King Charles Casinos" or "King Charles Universities" in the making... :-P
poke all difference, a few mugs and tea towels aren't going to prop up 20 years worth of decline and austerity.
Negligible effect.
This made me laugh 😂
Who?
Uh oh…
