Why are conservatives more likely to hit their children?

Some people think that time outs don't work, but the trick is that you have to be willing to drop what you're doing and sit down with your child in time out and talk. you have to explain what they did wrong and why it was wrong. Then don't let your child out of time out until they can tell you what they did wrong and why it was wrong. It's a system designed to have your child understand you, rather than fear you and feel safe to talk to you about anything.

It takes a lot of patience and some people don't have that.

This is such a pitiful attempt at making Republicans look bad. I wouldn't be surprised if Republicans were more likely to engage in punishments like spanking or something like that, but I'm sure that if you were to use a statistic like "what percentage of Republicans hit their children" rather than "which of the two major parties are more likely to" then nobody would care about your post because it's still a tiny minority of people regardless of who is doing it.

Like, given all the violence we've been seeing recently, I'm sure the answer to "which major party is more likely to engage in violence/political violence," the answer would undoubtedly be Democrats. But the fact of the matter is a very small minority of democrats engage in violence.

Like, what, 0.8% of Democrats engage in violence while 0.3% of Republicans do. Well then I guess according to you Democrats are just bad people, right?

It's the opposite. Conservatives believe that hitting or spanking their children is the wrong way to discipline. We use non-violent methods like sitting in the corner for half an hour, no TV or Phone for an x amount of time, no chips and cookies, things like that. Liberals believe that hitting their kids is the correct way of teaching kids a lesson. That's why a lot of liberal kids end up sick in the head in their future.

Ok, read the ending. Plus, based on what I've seen and read over the years, liberals have always been more violent. Especially blacks and hispanics. Whenever I'm in a public setting and there are kids misbehaving, it's only the black parents who scream and hit the kids. I obviously don't ask if they are conservative or liberal, but most likely liberal because I live in a deep blue state. I've never seen white people do that. And same goes for people I know personally. Maybe it's somewhat different in the United States because I'm Russian and culture is very different. I do live and grew up mostly in the US though. Another thing to think about is what does "Hitting" include? Is it just some light spanking on the butt? Is it using belts? Is it slapping their face? Is it punching? Their definitions could be different. And again, from personal experience and what I've read elsewhere, I stand with what I said.

Untrue. Blacks and Hispanics are more likely to hit their children. 95% of Blacks are liberal and 46% of Hispanics are still liberal. White women (majority are liberal according to voting statistics) hit their children much more often than men do.

I don't. I don't know if conservatives are more likely to beat their kids either, but I do know there is someone on GaG anonymously posting anti-conservative rants daily who keeps deleting answers who don't kowtow to his anti-right ideas or are able to argue against him so might as well have a bit of fun :P

Oh, I thought you meant like straight up assaulting their kids. This is just spanking, that's not quite the same thing. There is also a lot of variables left out like what they are spanking for and with what.

And even though the general trend was going down the difference isn't all that much, like 15 percent difference at most.
