Im confused.. Why is it blacks hate the n word?

They call each other the word and love it, its in all black music. Then when you call them what they like to be friendly to them, they become enraged. This seems illogical confusing. If I like to be called a name why would I get enraged when I'm called it?

I think they are ok with saying it to each other and using it themselves as I suppose they are sort of claiming the word back and are changing the way it’s used, joking around with friends, could be empowering I guess. I’m not sure though because I’m white!


Whereas if a white person says that to a black person it’s usually from a place of hate, racism, and genuine disgust. It’s derogatory and disrespectful and it is never ok to say.

If blacks got rid of the word and used black, be ok with black, the issue would go away. Its like they are cursing themselves. It shouldn't be ok for them or us, or rap musians, so the issue will go away.

Yeah but they aren’t using it as a descriptive word, it’s more a term they might use to call their friends instead of ‘homie’ or something and I feel like they have the right to do so as the word is used so negatively to them and has been throughout history, why not take the word and turn it into something their own?

It might give them a dopamine shot of releaf, but outside there backwards rush, other races have to deal with their mental illness. The fall out. Its ruined American culture for everyone including themselves. Its there own fault!

It makes sense. White slave owners used the N word as a way to degrade while the slaves obtained it and tried to turn it into something I guess positive in their situation. I think if a black guy uses the N word regularly, it’s unattractive and shows Maturity level

Everyone picks and chooses what's right and wrong. I'm sure if a family member/ friend does things you let then to, but if a random person does it you'll react differently
