Biden didn't ahut down anything, Wall Street just doesn't wanna invest into hydrocarbons, cus the uncertainty how much longer energy prices going to stay high. This is what you get on the free market. Image if he started to subsidise oil production, he'd be a communist. Don't get me wrong he's probably the worst president of American history, but doesn't shut down oil drilling. Fracking is a highly controversial method of oil extraction, but it is more of a state than federal thing to deal with. Arkansas for example is quite happy with fracking while Vermont, Washington, Maryland and New York banned it. Other than uncertain energy prices I see it as an other significant reason why Wall Street doesn't wanna invest into oil. Imagine they put the big money into a certain state and they bann fracking within a few years.
