that really depends on the actual settings...

if I were in that situation exact, I would have done the same as Chris Rock did, laugh it out... lol, because well... as a professional you have a responsibility to keep up the show going instead of making all things worse and it would have been on me, I started the drama so own it

however, if it were actually me as a person, and someone tries to hit me in public well... chances are that I would just not lean forward and let a dude walk onto me like that and also let him hit me like that, lol... I usually know better about these things, they're not difficult to miss and not see it coming

but let's say that someone actually hit me in public, like that... in that case I would have to consider first the situation, and then the implications and possible consequences, because I would not want to escalate things further and then get shot or something

it is very easy to theorize an scenario and say "oh I would kick his ass right away" but in the real world things are very different, especially here where I live... let's say for example it was someone from a cartel who slapped me like that for something I caused and said to them? I think it would be a better idea to just take the slap from a cartel person, instead of getting murdered by the cartel people when I decided to fight back... lol, would be even more stupid of me

I would likely say WTF first….. and then base my response off what happens next: is there an advancement in aggression or an apology or nothing?
And I think my response would be dependent on my current mental state / mood. Worst case, I punch him right in the face and it escalates…. Best case I give them a dirty look and tell them to get the F away from me and move on.

Nobody would do that to me. If they started walking up to me, I'd immediately be defensive. And if it was a literal cuck like Will Smith, I would've beat him like he should've beat his wife (that's a joke, people). I would've deflected his slap attempt and instinctively right hooked him, because muscle memory. And I would've done more punches after that, because I couldn't live with myself if I got my ass kicked by a literal cuckold and beta male.

Chris Rock is a professional comedian and thought he was friends with Will, which is why he didn't do anything or see it coming. But he handled it like a true professional after it happened. And so did Dave Chappelle when someone tried to tackle him on stage.

Simple assault, depending on the disparity of force involved might not justify shooting, but it would certainly justify defending oneself with equal simple assault. At which point the attacker can back off or escalate, which depending on the means of escalation may then justify shooting.

The law is too light on those who provoke. I mean many fight videos from the streets are half truths, where only the physical attacker is filmed but not the verbal attackers that started the whole thing.

If someone went will smith on me, it would be for me running my mouth. If someone did it for no reason, I'd report him to the police.

Well depends on the situation. Although the slap was inappropriate considering the situation, Chris Rock's joke was in poor taste.

Now considering that ain't my kind of humor, i wouldn't make a joke like that in the first place so if a person slapped me, it's safe to assume it was unwarranted attack, so they're getting a slap back with interest rate.
