Transpeople, what have you learned about sexism since 'passing' as your desired gender?

Question

Transmen, what are men saying behind women's backs that made you realize sexism was even worse than what you thought it was? Transwomen, do you now realize that women who you used to think were just whiny and overreacting were actually right?

Any other realizations that you weren't aware of before?

People engage women, a lot. My spouse is transitioning and has told me he hasn't been approached/talked to in public for months now. I'm not even transitioning I just dress more feminine, and have had a rapid increase in strangers just talking to or complimenting me randomly. Half the time they call me miss so yeah I assume the connection there. I don't know if that's sexism, certainly seems like a sex based social difference.

But luckily I'm an extrovert and he's an introvert, so it's actually been really nice to have that shift. He doesn't worry as much if he'll have to interact cause people just don't really, and I don't worry as much about interacting cause people are generally more open to talk. We're both more comfortable going out now.

Well considering that men can’t be women and women can’t be men and you are either born with a penis or you’re born with a vagina and you can only mutilate these organs to the point of infertility and typically within the 6-8 years later suicide. I would say trans people don’t actually exist it’s a mental illness that needs to be treated and these people should not be made fun of these people should not be beating in the streets but they sure to get mental help and embrace who they are when they are born just like you cannot change your race you cannot change your gender

I've known a number of trans people since the mid 90's and, so far, not a single one has complained about sexism and how terrible men are to women!! Carla was the only one that an issue with men because, until she transitioned completely, she HAD a boyfriend but, as soon as she became a woman, she never heard from him, again! I guess he just wanted the best of both worlds while he could still get it!

My friend is trans man and he told me that after taking testosterone, his sex drive went through the roof and he ended up sleeping with a prostitute to deal with it. I found it funny.
