I don't know if it's because I am an introvert, whereby I view smalltalk as a chore to be divided equally amongst individuals in the same way people expect everyone to do their share of housework. But for some reason, I always keep score of who initiates the conversation amongst all of my acquaintances. I mean, I guess I think too much about how many people are friendliness when they're older, and that it's only then that they start having regrets about not befriending certain people from their past. I feel as though no one else my age takes things like this as seriously as I do. And ironically, maybe this mindset winds up sabotaging my relationships with people. Anyone else have these issues?
