He went to use the bathroom, and when he came back, I said "hey!" His eyebrows raised as he stopped and faced me, I told him "I appreciate what you do"
He smiled, chuckled a bit and said "of course, I appreciate your support" and held his hand out, I took it, and shook it as I smiled. He moved on, that simple interaction made my day.
I was also at Dwight D. Eisenhower park, the lime soda I bought at Specs, I discovered that it didn't have threads, so taking the lid off was very hard. I looked for a rock, but couldn't find one, I hit it on a sign twice, that made a lot of noise as I tried to break it open while I watched the lake.
After I hit it twice, I heard sirens go twice, I thought I was in trouble for that. He stopped in front of the lake, and I said "hi". He was very nice, I explained my dilemma, with trying to get the lime soda open, he suggested that I try breaking it on the sign. Which was a relief, as it told me that he wasn't mad about me hitting it on the steel sign which said "no littering".
He suggested that I walk a quarter mile up the road from the lake, and I can find rocks there to break the bottle open. He was with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. As with every interaction I've had with them, he was very nice😊
You had any interactions with law enforcement which didn't necessarily involve you directly? Like you saw them in public, but you weren't in a situation where they had to interact with you? How did it go?
