Have you ever had a bad experience with the cops?

This happened some years ago. But some girl reported that a guy stole her phone and that he had a gun. They showed her video footage of the area during that time and asked her to point to the guy if she saw him. She pointed to my mom's car 🙄.

They showed up to my mom's house and asked questions about that day. My brother just so happened to be in the car with my mom that day. But they saw my boyfriend in the house and got his name, thinking he was my brother (although my brother nor my mom had nothing to do with it). They seemed friendly and let us know they would talk to us more if they had anymore questions.

Some weeks later, they burst into the house in the middle of the night with guns out to search the house. I had no clothes on & was under the blanket. So i asked the cop if he could grab me some clothes to put on. He tossed me a shirt and pants, and then turned to give me privacy. Once I got up to get dressed he immediately turned back around while I was undressed. Like what was the point of turning around for 5 seconds... I guess he got worried that maybe I'd grab a weapon out of nowhere? I don't know...

They trashed the house basically, and found nothing. Then they took my boyfriend with them without any shoes and basically tried to force him to say that he was the guy that stole the girls phone.

Since they couldn't get him to say it was him... they finally let him go. And apologized to us for damages to the house...

My husband was killed by a state trooper in front of me 8/21/15. My family and I were harassed for months after by state police. It didn't stop until the wrongful death lawsuit I had filed was settled nearly 20 months later. The whole ordeal has been traumatizing for my kids and myself to say the least. Once there is a violation from those that are supposed to protect and serve us- life can never be the same. I didn't drive for 7 years out of fear of being pulled over. I would only leave my house if it was an emergency for 5 years because the thought of coming face to face with the man who executed my husband in front of me was unbearable. To this day I struggle with PTSD and probably will till the day I die.

Yeah but that's a given lol growing up I rmbr my homie got pulled over didn't have a license they grabbed me and threw me outta the car, yelled at me to get the fuck out and threw me on the ground in an alley way, an then agaisnt a fence and then slammed me back to the car bumper. Molested me basically checking in between and under my ball sack lol put there aide if there hand in my butt cheeks.

Had like 12 cops there for nothing but my homie pulled over for a stop, had gang task force there and everything. I have had many more run ins growing up. End of the day, cops stop crime but is every LE Officer good? Fuck no.

Cop this story ( pun intended ) , and If youve ever watched an Aussie raid , Special operations keep that in your mind ! Coz the TV shows it exactly as it is..

Its Victoria Australia summer time 1986 , I was 25 or 24 ( I'm 62 years now ) , in bed at dawn 5am approx , and I can hear this loud ( really loud ) banging , not like a " knock " like smashing , it was what you would call a Condo ( we called flats ) 1st floor not ground floor , was pretty warm , so chucked on my board shorts to rush to the door to see what was going , Bang bang bang the door is nearly popping off its hinges , quickly pulled it open as it was about to get smashed down , 11 Special operations guys in full kit , come rushing in all at once , 2 plain clothes detectives waving a search warrant , they were yelling out " Search warrant " " Search warrant " , knocked me over to the floor in the rush , detective grabs me by the throat and lifts me off the ground " Robert Fox? " , No , I'm not Robert Fox , I knew RF but had not seen him around in over 1 month , ny girlfriend was in bed , in the rushed , went though everything , throwing stuff everywhere , What are these codes? What's this? You've had a lot of jobs David? Basically destroyed the place. Where is Robert Fox? ( I didn't know where he was ) One copper giving me a big hay maker Back hand slap and he said " Your a fckin smart arse David " , my door was fcked , my place destroyed , my girlfriend they said to her " Your a bit young for him aren't you love? " Shit from bedtime to breakfast , and its not yet 6am !

Finally , things began to quite down , and some members of Special operations began to leave , I was telling the two in Charge , Yes , I know Robert Fox , he used to rent a room from me , have not seen him in 6 weeks , I don't know where he is ( and I genuinely did not know ) , so its about 6.15 am , spec opp are all gone , just the 2 plain clothes detectives are there , and across the walkway , what dickhead is walking towards the door? Yep , Robert Fox , I'm trying to signal , without being obvious " get outta here man " , but he kept walking. Surely he must have suspected police were still there? Who are you? they ask " Robert Fox " , they literally jumped him , they had him cuffed at kitchen table ( cuffed behind ) could defend , punching him in the face , big backhand slaps " What's it like fighting real men? " I tried to intervene , and copped a fist in the face and another backhander , then a big screaming in your face lecture to Robert , extremely aggressive , while blood ran down his face..

Finally , they let go , laid no charges , and as the detective leaves , he turns smiles and says " You have a nice day Robert " .

And that was my morning in February 1986 , Victoria Australia , and boy I never forgot it !

oh yeah, cops are the dumbest people. Where I live, they will hire any person off the street. I've had a couple bad experiences.

A couple of years ago I was coming home from work and this State Patrol woman pulled me over and accused me of being high. I worked ALL DAY. I was tired as hell. She took me to the state patrolmen office and drug tested me, and then said 'I'm just doing my job", and me being tired from dealing with assholes at my job all day and now this, I told you "Just doing you job? You must have shit for brains because I'm as sober as a priest of Sunday. Where did they find you?"

Don't ever drive in Ohio after 10pm because there are some dumb ones here! Her hair was buzzed and she was transcendently confused, and I am not putting down transgender people, but I'm pretty sure she was taking her passive aggression out on me because I'm a guy.

The other experience I had was with these two deputies one night who where looking for some sex, and they put me in their car, took me to this building, and basically sexually assaulted me in a few short words. (Probably too graphic here) People think this doesn't happen because they're the law but it does. Cops are dangerous people because they get away with so much.

Yea my house got swatted once, some dude thought we stole his money so he said he was going to come up to the house and take it back (he was an old friend we seperated from) that word spread which were just words but we got ears everywhere here so we got the word, which we didn't take too seriously until he tried to hire some people we know so they can jump us, so these loyal as mfs told us that the other dude tried to hire them for this so me and bro baited their asses into a storage room and confronted his ass, we let his friend go without a beating which we shouldn't have
They didn't believe us we were foreal so homie fired a shot, we let the friend go cause he didn't do anything but he later on snitched.

So they swatted the house and said they were gonna file a warrant for our arrest and news that shit so we were like that's mutt, we turned ourselves in and settled it, case was dismissed.

I've also been falsely identified and cops mugged the fuck out of me cause I suposely looked like someone they were looking for, they asked if I knew who it was, i told them No, I honestly don't like cops lol

Personally, no. Never had any bad experiences with cops, but I see a lot of bodycam videos in my spare time just for the entertainment of it. A lot of those people don’t realize how many small things you do can get you arrested. Arguing with a cop can be obstruction or resistance without violence, not listening to an order just because you ask for clarification of it is also resistance. Refusing to answer a question when you’re passing them on the street can get you arrested. And if the cop is in the wrong for doing so, like the police officer who arrested a blind man after he refused to give him his folded up cane that the cop mistakenly thought was a weapon, the police officer often doesn’t face any discipline or consequences for their actions. And there’s a mantra I always say in regards to cops. “Police don’t prevent crime, they punish it.”
Even if you went to police with evidence of a stalker that wouldn’t leave you alone, the cops can’t do anything unless he’s specifically threatening violence. He can threaten to follow you to the ends of the earth, make it clear you will never be allowed to feel safe in your own home because of paranoia, but the cops can’t do anything to help you feel safe.

I’ve dealt with cops of all ethnicities, white, black, hispanic and Asian cops.

All for traffic stops including speeding. What I did, was immediately pull over. Not delay it or anything, (rules are rules, if I was speeding I should understand the consequences of my actions) I digress. As soon as I would pull the car over I would put both of my wrists on the steering wheel, roll down both my windows, and wait for them to approach my car. When they do, I would politely greet them, answer any questions they have, (it’s ok to ask why they’re pulling you over, however it typically goes like they ask you “do you know why I’m pulling you over?” So that at the very least they determine that you are aware of the laws yet still broke them.

They all went well, no cop interaction escalated because I was respectful, honest and communicative. I didn’t talk back, raise my voice or become hostile. At the end of the day I know they’re job is to keep really bad people off the streets so they don’t harm the innocent. Are there bad cops tho? Definitely, but there are bad people in all fields of work

I used to work for a company that send me around the country installing computer systems in banks and department stores. I worked with another guy. and the two of us went to Tampa to install a system in a jewelry store. We got a blue Pontiac LeMans as a rental car and we were driving into Tampa when all of a sudden a cop car pulls up behind us with the lights and siren on. We got pulled over and the two cops got out with their guns drawn. We were ordered out of the car and were shoved against the car. One of the cops patted us down and wanted to see som ID. We showed him out out of state drivers licesnses. The cops still kept us up againdst the car. The guy I worked with asked the cops what was going on. The cop said that two guys in a blue Pontiac just robbed a 7-11 store and one of them had a cut under his eye. He pointed towards me and I had fallen through a suspended ceiling in Rochester NY the day before and I had a cut under my eye. We opened the trunk and showed the cops all our tools and a big spool of cable, the car rental agreement and our plane tickets. The cops went back to the car and then let us go. After they left I suggested that we should stick up a liquor store and those other two guys would get blamed for it.

Yeah, they pulled me over on my way to Jack In The Box because another guy with a white trash race car the same color as mine was just doing burnouts on the city college football field around the corner. This one cop wouldn't fuck off and I told him something like "if I was just doing burnouts on wet grass, wouldn't there be a bunch of grass in my tire treads and in my wheel wells?" The college cop said "yep" and the dickweed cop felt really stupid. Then he told my brother "you look like the guy who just robbed Am/Pm last week". My brother said "you got the wrong guy, man". Yeah I was pulled over because I wasn't wearing a seat belt. And he asked me a million questions. He asked where I was going. I told him a movie. He asked which one. I told him "Tomb Raider" (obviously this was a couple decades ago). He asked what time th movie was playing. I told him. He said I don't think you're going to make it on time. I said "probably not now, no". I didn't think anything of it at the time other than it was weird. But after I thought about it a little it clicked why he was doing it. I've had cops pull me over claim they smelled marijuana in my car and consequently search everything with me sitting on the side of the road. That happened twice and I don't smoke marijuana or take any illicit drugs, never have.

Another time I got pulled over for speeding and not maintaining my lane. It was 1 am in the morning and the cop said my eyes were blood shot and he supposedly smelled alcohol in the car. He forced me out and asked me to do his field sobriety tests then arrested me after telling me I failed. They suspended my license and finger printed me and performed a full blood test at the station which came back negative for all drugs and alcohol. They had to amend the charge to reckless driving but in many ways I felt like they crossed the line handling the situation the way they did.

I have. i was actually wrongfully arrested once.

it was late at night in 2005. i was walking two of my friends i had over to their cars across the street. when i started walking back a cop car started slowly driving behind me obviously following me. they then got out of their car and put handcuffs on me and put me in the back of their cop car. I was with other friends that night and apparently i resembled some other dude they were after. so they thankfully let me go.

i actually thought it was because we made too much noise for the neighbors lol. but why would cops arrest you for that?

Yeah, the cop stopped and frisked me. He walked up to me and said he told me to take my hands out of my pocket. I asked him, "What did I do?" I put my hand back in my pocket without thinking by mistake, and he said, "Can you keep your hands away from your pockets? You are making me nervous?" while he had his hand on his gun.

I had no papers on me and this one tough Sheriff type cop kept me there for 30 minutes till the confirmation came in that I was who I said I was.

Yes. I got a speeding ticket when my jalopy was incapable of the speed I was charged with. I reported it to the judge and I think he talked to them and the didn't show up for the hearing and the case was dismissed. I agreed to court fees because im not an idiot.
