Why don't we have gay president?

We had 46 president none of them were gay, we lgbtq community need representative

its 2022 it's time for change, I know straight people don't like this idea but new ideas is always good.

After we get gay president then it's time for a woman president because I think gay president and woman president will do better job than straight male president

Probably because being gay, or female, has nothing to do with their qualifications to be President?

I'd rather vote for someone who has the right knowledge, position on the issues, and experience, rather than their genitals, or who they allow to play with those genitals.

Voting for people who aren't qualified, simply because of their appearance, or their sexuality, is how you get shitty Presidents.

If a gay candidate, or a female candidate, were to run, and they were qualified, then I would vote for them, but my doing so would have absolutely nothing to do with either of those characteristics.

I think we've already had one, a secretly gay one but still. Either way, there might be one in the future for a chance but beside that, I dont think so. I think most americans will elect based on which candidate they think is better and not on minor characteristics like those. Being a gay, though, might work against them since people still view that negatively.

I don’t vote for people based on their sexual orientation, the color of their skin, their ethnic background, or their gender. I vote for people based on the policies they want to put in place.

Here's a novel idea: How bout we elect presidents, hire actors and overall appoint people based on merit and not who they wanna have sex with or what color they are?

James Buchanan is the only President who never married and was probably gay. There are several others who may have been gay and were married because it was expected.

I liked Pete Buttigieg. And would've been cool with him being president. And I didn't learn well into the election even that he was gay. I often wonder if I'd have viewed him differently if I'd learned that early on. But I just don't know. Maybe that's a good sign. The fact that his sexual orientation is a mere footnote.

Can't vote for a gay presidential candidate if their aren't any. We did have Pete in the 2020 primary, but he was a CIA hack. We need to stop voting for candidates based on their race, gender and sexual orientation and focus on their qualification. I have no problem voting for a gay candidate if I feel they are best for the job, but will not vote for a candidate just because they are gay and need to be politically correct.
