Why do some people hate it when you tell them they are in the minority?

But I do agree that its not what you say, its how and why you say it. Most people are already aware theyre a minority. I used to be the only black woman where I worked with 80 white men and 3 white women. It was... exhausting at first but i got used to it.

But I can understand why.

You are pretty much telling them barely anybody agrees with them.

It's a round about way of saying your way of thinking is wrong. And nobody thinks like you.

And if it's a deep strong belief that they really truly believe in you may have shattered their comfortable world

Some people don’t like to be in the minority and prefer to be similar to other people. Sometimes being in the minority is normal, but if someone can’t handle that they are probably just insecure being their own person.

Being in the minority is perceived as being in the wrong, particularly in a “democracy”.
The reaction is definitely a sign of ignorance and likely a sign of insecurity.
