How safe was life in medieval Europe?

Considering a knight was the local thug, rapist, theif, bully, murderer it was pretty dangerous. Plus as a pleb there's a good chance of being killed your the rival of your lord's knights.

Not safe at all with all the rampant disease, poverty, and killing. Lots of religious persecution then too.

Nobody told you you couldn’t beat your child back then. Everyone stabbed each other in the back to get ahead. And those that succeeded usually lost it.

People were considered old if they were 40. Life expectancy was short, medical knowledge and care was very rudimentary. Hygiene didn't exist. Punishments were extremly harsh. You could get tortured or mutilated for adultery, gossiping, stealing, robbery and executed by getting hanged drawn & quartered or burned alive if committing high treason, deserting or murder
