Has anyone ever helped you if you got hurt or fell in public?

Once or twice but not when I really needed it!! I was the victim in a hit & run and, instead of someone helping me get to the ER less than a block away, everyone just drove the fuck around me!!

Thanks! I think so, too!! First, I tried to stand where I was hit, on the side of the road, and flag people down for help. No one would stop! At best, they'd slow down slightly and drive on! There were no street lights on that short stretch of road so, I figured, maybe they just didn't see me! So, I stepped out ONTO the road to flag them down they still just slowed down and drove by! So, I stood IN the line of traffic trying to flag them down,. they slowed down and drove the fuck AROUND ME!! This was a particularly warm Feb. (22nd, 1984, around 9:00 p. m.) so, as it was cooling down, the grass was getting wet with dew and in order for me to "walk" to the ER, I had to go up two grassy hills! One was only about 4' high, the one where I got hit. The second was just over half a block away and was about 15' high!! I couldn't walk because the car fractured my leg so, I had to hop most of the way!! I had 8 newspaper routes and JUST got a new night job that I was on my way home to get ready to go to and I lost all of them because of that!!

I've never had some one actually help me. I'm a do free running/parkour When I was new I went to speed vault over a bench and missed and tripped off of it, landing face first. I had an older lady ask if I was ok. But I think people assume if get hurt it's what comes with the sport.

Yeah when I was in like 5th grade I was hauling ass on my bike and a stick popped up into my spokes and I did a front flip over my handle bars and slid in the middle of the street and got nasty road rash and was bleeding all over the place and some lady came out of her house and tried to patch me up and drove me home.

Nope. I’m a man. It’s sink or swim for us. No life vests, preservers or rafts, and definitely no rescue boats. It’s actually worse than that. If i DO need help, all the boats divert so that i can’t swim to them to help myself. No joke.

Nobody would. There’s no evidence whatsoever to suggest that men receive help socially or institutionally, in the US. You may as well be asking what i’d do if the sky suddenly filled with unicorns that shit pure gold everywhere all the time. It quite simply doesn’t happen. Howdahell would anyone anywhere prepare for an event that has never happened and will almost certainly never happen? Ell oh ell!

I was at the beach last year a few months after i had a total hip replacement. I was going in swimming and there was a tough rip current. After I walked in about 30 feet i decided it would be too rough as I was walking out I got knocked down and two women saw it and came running over. I was able to get out on my own nd was more embarrassed than anything else but I thanked the two of them and explained that I was still recovering from surgery and figured i would seem less pathetic.

it's very common around here for people to at least check and as if you're alright enough

@Msputiton the worst for me and maybe cause I was in elementary (10 years old) was having a 12 year old with a mustache already, kicking me right on the shin with no shin guards...

he had boots on, and left me with a dent right on my shin... lmfao, lasted a couple of days or so
