Follow "the" science?

There is a reason why the catch phrase of the day is "follow the science" and not "confirm the science", "validate the science", or "replicate the science". Science is never settled or followed unless powerful people have a vested interest.

I think a lot of people on here either have short term memory problems or are dishonest! We're on our third year of science that not only has not been questioned, other than by a few in Congress and other brave drs and scientists, but was not allowed to be questioned! If you questioned Lord Fauci and his disciples, you were told to sit down and shut up, even members of the WHO were silenced. Now, we realize most of what they said and mandated was never based on science.

I do think that a lot of people have a misconception about what "Follow the Science" means... which is not like ~Obey the Science~

following is an indication of a trail, a journey, a path... there's tracks left, even if the ones you're following are no longer there, you do have their trails, lol... this is the actual science, the science is not the destination by the end that says "You Must This or That, TRUST ME" no... the science is the journey, the tracks on the trail, the path you could follow and leads you, to understanding, your own understanding...

however, yes... a whole lot of people do not actually do that, they will just go with the easier and often, way more conveniently to them ~Obey the Science~ without following the path, no questioning, no confirmation, no scrutiny, nothing much of that... is going to lead them somewhere else instead, often into trouble, other times disappointment because we decided to blindly conform to just what we're told wrongly

anyone in power will always take advantage of this, one way or another... it pays off for them

I can't think right now because I just took my Walgreens. Sorry I got an empty opinion. But science does show that we're all in this together, and it's not my opinion. Frankly nothing I post is ever my own opinion, because I follow the science.

Scientific research is always validated, confirmed by replicating and peer reviewing results and hypothesis.

However scientists and research facilities are also only run by humans and need money for their work.

This can lead to biased research questions and "unwanted results" not being published or results which couldn't find a correlation between two variables to not being published.

Not since the days of Copernicus and Galileo have institutions had the power to silence scientific inquiry.

Science does get questioned and has to stand up to scrutiny. But we have to accept there is often enough evidence to say they're on the right track.
If you want to debunk whats become established fact then the onus is on you to provide stronger evidence.

The reason you're told to "follow the science" is because whatever conclusion is given has been worked out. But you can follow its path though the scientific papers, and research it's referencing.

You cannot "confirm the science" as you are not part of the research, development or academia team. Nor can you "validate the science" as you are not part of any board or committee tasked with such work.

Regarding your "update" you're confusing "scientism" with "science". Science is just a method of processing quantifiable information. It can be wrong, right or take U-turns, it's all in the nature of research.
