Illegal immigrants and the government allowing them to work is causing problems. They are willing to work for pennies on the dollar and live together, 8 people in a 3 bedroom house. And then the job doesn't even get done right. They replace young guys who maybe got into electrical or carpentry because it was a passion for them and turned it into something else because they flooded the market with low value, cheap labor.
If Wallstreet did something like this, people would be in jail.
Obviously you can't blame immigrants for taking opportunity but it destroyed the middle class over the course of 10 years. If you want to live in 2022 the way the average person in America was living in 2007, you would need to be in the top 10% of earners today or earning around or over 200k/year.
So I think it's really bad to call the people who are responsible for the entire world economies ability to run stupid, for not wanting to have these issues in the first place because they could have easily been avoided.
I agree with what you said. I was about to say the same thing. Competition isn't exactly the problem. The problem is these are illegal aliens. They work for next to nothing, requiring almost zero benefits (health, sick days, vacation time, etc...). They have no social security number, or if they do, it's a bought and paid for one. Many of them get paid "under the table", meaning they do not pay into the federal system of labor in the US.
That's not a competitive work environment. Personally, I wish the Gov't would go after every company that hires illegals and severely hamper their business.
We can't possibly allow the entire of central and south America to empty into the United States. There has to be set limits, for the sake of us citizens. Its not ilegals thar are to blame but the democrats and those that want cheap labor. We are heading back to the way it was during the gilded age.
There are 600 million in South and central America. We can't even look after out own in the US. What you are proposing is turning the US into a version of crime ridden Mexico or Colombia. We already tax immigrants and allow them to be productive.

Out tax base won't grow. We will have more welfare dependants and less taxes paid due to low wages. Less money in the economy due to less disposable income for average people and all the wealth funneled up to the top. Basically just like a central or south American country rife with crime and poverty.
I know two people who have been working illegally, for legal companies in the USA (up North in the USA) and they've done for almost two decades and the only reason why they are not legal yet, is because if they were to fix for residence, papers and what not... then they would have to get paid a lot more by the American legal company
these two guys in specific only work in the US half of the year (October through March) and basically, they're managers that supervise all of the illegal (and also legal) workers that these companies bring for the winter months
basically, legal US residents and workers do not want to work in construction during winters and rainy seasons because well, it can get cold AF up North, so they just stop working because the companies will not pay them more during the winter... illegal workers always take those jobs during the winter
the other guy I know, he manages the workplace at some very high-end resorts, so he makes sure that every legal and illegal work is doing exactly what they need to do, for the people who want things done in very specific way, and that's exactly what they want to see when they go to all these expensive winter resorts for very wealthy people from abroad
so, in many cases, no... it is not exactly a competition, legal US residents and workers just don't want to bother to do certain jobs so they just won't do them... and then, some companies just bring illegal labor during those winter times
and these are just two examples, I do know of many other like that on many other fields, lol
I've used undocumented workers/illegals before, mainly because either those in business who do the work never return my calls, or have been reliable and don't show up. I will pay good money for good work that is timely and meets my needs, so I don't care about anyone low-balling the price. But what good is giving my business to legal workers when they don't show or don't return my calls? My business owner frustration is more often with B2B than it is with clients or anyone/anything else.
also a big factor, work ethics... which is something this acquaintance of mine told me about, legal workers had it very easy to cancel at last minute, to quit on the spot, or like you say... they just go 'missing"
and that is the only reason why he was hired personally by the owner of these few resorts, he and his people will never cancel, will never quit and if they need extra hours done (as it often happens) they will do it, because these seasonal illegal workers only come to the USA to work, nothing else lol
and that's exactly what these companies want because many of their events are hosted by the US government itself and they're also entertaining foreign companies executives, owners and diplomats as well
how, for all the legal workers and associates who want to keep up with that task and demand, they're always hired, they are never replaced as long as they do a job well done, lol

You say your " indoctrinated college educated ass ain’t scared of letting in a lot of refugee immigrants" but what happens when it's not under educated refugees but folks from China, India and Europe possibly from Britain who have the same standard of education as you but are willing to work for less. To be honest I would be worried more about the next wave of automation replacing a lot of jobs and careers even very lucrative careers that require a high degree of education like accountants.
we want to manage our economic growth gradually so our high level of wealth isn't eroded. thus we want people legally, not illegally.
within 2 generations, most of us are immigrants... legal.
we need poor immigrants as they are willing to do the hard work we are too lazy to do. Much of my area are people who came here 2 decades ago, and are doing quite well.
I've said before... USA should make offer to buy up all of south america for a $1. solves the problem, builds a uniform country to compete with china.
I get what you're saying, but it really is a more complex in most instances. Hiring citizens / legal immigrants / those with work visas requires at least minimum wage and often union scale, WC insurance, matching taxes, benefits, etc. Many places instead opt to hire those without papers, pay them less than minimum under the table, pay nothing in WC, and if the worker gets injured they just scare them with the idea of deportation. Yes, this still happens. So it really isn't competition on a level playing field.
Working tax-free is nice. It's like you get paid less, but get paid more at the same time. Meanwhile, the citizen is going to pay out the ass for shit they'll never see... like for someone elses rent or child support. Are they really going to just be called dumb for not wanting to get paid half as much for doing the same job? That's kinda mean. I mean expecting them to love it is the 'who's dumb.'
It’s not tax free to the illegal. They still pay sales tax. And poor people don’t pay tax either. Oh and the only winner is the billion dollar company hiring illegals
Sales tax... that's a tax that really gouges the poor. Good on you for reminding me of that.
When I went into a tax free zone my pay jumped from like $900 every 2 weeks to like $3,000. I fucking felt rich as fuck. I think that's when I finally realized just how much I actually make and just never see until tax returns. And my tax returns are nothing like the money I was putting away. They take way more than the couple thousand they kick back after 12 months of work.
Bottom line... I think we're all getting ripped the fuck off unless we live for free off of social programs. Programs that will probably be gone once I'm finally eligible.

To be fair, if an illegal immigrant can come in and take your job... you deserve to lose your job.
But America's problem is not jobs- it's job competence. Why pay an incompetent American minimum wage to do a half assed job. All when you can get three illegals to do the job for less, and to a better standard?
You do understand that the reason illegal aliens get jobs is because they can compete for the job, right? As in, it's literally illegal to pay Americans the amount illegals would gladly take. Now, who do you think is responsible for that phenomenon exactly?
It's not about competition, it's about illegals don't belong in the country to begin with; besides the fact illegal aliens often work for cheap while a born and raised American already has a set standard of living and won't accept low pay for jobs that can't provide a decent living.

Southern whites have always wanted the good not hard work jobs for themselves and given the hard working no pay jobs to the poor non whites, nothing has changed in the US since the end of the civil war.
