How come some Russian people have a slight Asian look to them? Do parts of Russia have Asian ancestry?
Because Russia is right next to Asian descent people (as well as being in the continent of Asia), so naturally there's going to be overlap? And because nationality and ethnicity isn't the same thing? There are Asian Americans and Asian Canadians too, you know?

The Mongols invaded and conquered 100% of Russia and ruled them for 240 years. It's amazing how few people in the west seem to know this but if you watch some Russian films about past times it comes up. Mongols are one of the 56th recognized ethnic groups in China today. You can imagine that the Mongos took the hottest Russian women and did whatever they wanted/marrying, enslaving and so on. Lots of babies made. Do the math.
It's like asking why are there a lot of Caucasian looking people in Mexico & South America. Same math.
Muscovy, Novgorod, Kievian Rus who were ancestors of Russia were conquered by Golden Horde in XIII century. Golden Horde were nomadic riders from Asians steppes, majority of them were Mongols. Poland and Hungary stopped further Mongol expansion into Europe, but Mongols left their DNA in Russian population due 250 years long occupation.
Read history.
All people did was conquer and lose lands every other year. A new race of rulers ruled lands. Most the time the conquering armies raped the women.
Most nationalities and races have been mixed for a long time.

What is referred to as "Russia" is an area the borders of which were defined by men.
It's a vast expanse that stretches from Eastern Europe all the way to Kamchatka, which is east of Japan. It stretches past China and Mongolia to their north. There are indiginous peoples in many areas of Russia in places that are truly Asian as much of Russia IS in Asia. Simply put, many Russians ARE Asian because much of Russia is actually IN Asia. When I was in China, many years ago at this point... my first question was why there were white people on the money. I know jack shit about their history, but Russia is right there. I do know when the borders went up, some of those Raindeer herders got stuck on one side and some on the other.
If you look at Sami people over there next to the Nordic countries and you'll notice the same thing. Those Viking people traded with them and I'm sure they mixed here and there.
Well, the concept of race is stupid.
There are Russians who look Asian period. I have meet Russians who look flat-out Asian. But they identify as being Russian 100%. They speak Russian and identify as being Russian.
Here is Putin in a meeting with Indigenous Russians from the East.
I have a good Russian friend who calls it the Mongolian Invasion. He says you will see it in a lot of Russians. The Mongolians conquered most of present day Russia proper.
Because some of them are Asians.
Russia is a multiethnic country. Except for Slavic Russians-Russians there are Tatars, Buryats etc. that are closer to Mongols.
Same reason why there are Afghans who look Asian (hazaras)
They have Asian ancestory from the Mongols
Because Russia occupies all of North Asia, duh.
Because Russia is part of Asia. lmao. Part of Russia. Some of its in Europe. But because. They’re Asians. By definition. At least in the parts of Russia that’s in Asia.
I guess because they are right next to each other geographically. I know what u mean, I am half Asian and have been mistaken for Russian because of my eyes. Some Russians have a mixed look
Because it is a huge, huge, huge country that spans 11 time zones with peoples from all over. A lot of the far eastern part of the country is in the far east. They share a border with China.
You know that most of the country is in Asia, comrade? You can’t really expect finding no Asians in Vladivostok. Just because the capital Moskva and the former capital St Petersburg are European, doesn’t mean all is European.
Because they are Asian... Russia is a pretty huge place. Very little of it is in Europe; most stretches to the otherside of Asia.
I know there's no such thing as a stupid question... but damn does this come close.
Russians technically are just northern Asians >.>
Eastern Russian does cover quite a bit of East Asia north of China and Mongolia so people in that region are going to look either Chinese or Mongolian.
Everyone looks a bit Asian with the right makeup, deary.
She’s probably mixed I actually think Russians have cat features
Because geographically they’re like right there and they’re closely genetically related
Russia has some part in Asia 🌏 and outside the Ural mountain 🏔️ it is part of urasia or Europe 🌍
Eastern Russia is Asia
Genghis Khan probably has in impact if you look how far the mongols spanned
