If we were taught from young that pain ‘feels good’, would we experience it differently?

Simply put- we would.
It’s impulsive when/that we perceive it as bad.
If it’s explained as a good thing. We wouldn’t fear or dread it. We wouldn’t sometimes, mentally shut down when we face it. We’d instead, be resilient by default, and not need constructive conditioning and instilling of beliefs as we age.
They say in the gym world, “no pain, no gain.”
The pain in the gym means something is working- it’s two forces meeting each other and shifting something to a positive sector.
There’s two kinds of pain, though.
The ‘gym pain and life pain,’ called pressure/ friction/ resistance, to build endurance, and it refines and builds us,
but there is *destructive* pain-
no one is going to gain anything from burning their flesh lol
thats destructive, and without proper pain receptors in place, to recognize that, a burning individual would soon cease to exist..
Pain receptors help us to remove potentially destructive objects.
Pain receptors are for physical pain.
We receive these messages and get alerted about pain, but we never reflect or determine it’s purpose
Being alerted about a verbally/ physically abusive person should not remain as an alert, but we should take action to remove ourselves from that situation.
Some people receive these alerts and don’t work with it (gym), or remove it (abuse/destruction) and just stay in it..
<Receive the alert. Recognize it. Work with it. Or work to remove it/ or self.>
Some pain is bad.. but some pain is good.
Neither call for ‘fear’ or ‘dread.’
@JustiReno I like this 😤🤜🤛
That’s the kind of logic and motivation lord of people need to hear
A lot of the coaches and teammates in sports have my admiration 🤝💕
No. I think even babies know that pain feels bad and pleasure feels good without being taught.
Not appreciably. The purpose of pain is to motivate you to not do something- if it didn't work, far fewer of us would survive. And if it were possible to train people out of it, societies already would've. It's a lot more hard-wired than people suspect, given how many things aren't.
pain is way more than just an idea
so no, you can't just teach someone how to feel pain
if that were the case, you would be given audio classes after surgery, and not painkillers... lmao

So your a baby and from birth you are taught pain feels good then you got a guy named big schlong comes up to you and beats your fingers in with a hammer 🔨 so now do you think that’s gonna feel good or Is it gonna feel bad?
Pain does feel good that’s why I have 40+ tattoos 🥲
it would always be discomfort. But I guess you could Pavlov dog it to where your mind knows you'll get a treat after. So there's some serotonin or whatever.
Kinda like parents laughing when their kid falls over, so they don't cry.
Some pain does feel good. Doesn’t effect the bad at all for me.
I think pain goes beyond conscious thought and toward the old lizard brain. However our relationship with pain may be conflicted.
