Why are Turkish people Western wannabies and acting like they are westerners?

When I visit Turkey, everyone was wearing like europeans and Americans, and if some people wear except than that, other young people would look down on them. If you drink at Starbucks, you are an elite person. If you eat at western restaurants, you are good. They are watching Hollywood movies and series on Netflix all day. And they can't produce nothing globally.

Why is Turkey like this? Every country is like this a little bit, however, this is very severe in Turkey. They think trying to be western person is very cool and superior to others: such as arabs, Indians or their rooted cultures. They look down on arabs too.

You don't think it's possible that Turkish people LIKE some aspects of Western cultures and seek to imitate them? I seem to recall that country being on things like "democracy" and "social secularism"; where do you think THOSE ideas came from?

Think of the history of the country: they were a people at the crossroads of the Eastern and Western worlds, and then took over the last remaining offshoot of the world's oldest empire, and became more cosmopolitan that Comopolitain itself, at least at the time. It only makes sense they'd adopt a practice of multicultural adaptation. Istanbul's not the world capital it used to be, but it's still a huge, diverse city; why would the Turks NOT have access to the stuff the West exports? And why would they not see things in it they liked, and imitate them? Everyone else does; what makes them different?

Turks used to be like that, but nowadays they are more arab wannabies, thanks to Erdogan.
