Elon Musk has officially taken over Twitter.

This is the first small step to get free speech in America, like the first amendment says.

Clown News Network has complained about it non stop of course, but at least we get a break from the non-stop "January 6th"

Elon had fired most of the worthless employees and restored free speech. Now you can say things like "there are two genders" without getting banned. You can even "misgender" the girls who are boys etc.

I personally think I will join Twitter though I always hated social media. How about you?

Ehh... it doesn't really matter. Just because there has been a change of guard, doesn't suddenly mean the population is more pleasant to converse with. Sure, a bunch of Twitter's more prominent, more activist employees and moderators got canned. Does that suddenly increase the viability of the platform as a free-speech haven?

Musk's takeover of Twitter is a recent development, but the problems that have long since amassed and congealed inside Twitter's more vocal inner circle didn't suddenly disappear. If anything, the most vocal opposition see Musk's restaffing and course correction efforts as tantamount to a foreign invasion (which it kind of is, since the previous CEO more or less agreed with them--which is part of my Twitter has not been profitable for decades now) and my guess is, they will build an army to threaten the reign of Elon. In this way, they will take his desire for "free speech on Twitter" to task.

The only reason to reactivate or make a Twitter account now is because they are--for better or worse--the current public forum... for Millennials and Boomers, anyway. Most newsworthy events are or have been posted to Twitter first, which makes sense because Facebook has been historically too personal to generalize to a large audience and not everyone has a good-enough Internet connection to constantly watch 1080p or even 720p YouTube videos. So, that in that respect, having Twitter be free of arbitrarily-imposed restrictions can only be a good thing. Whether or not that amounts to anything more than a footnote in the company's history, given that they have been a sh*thole of ideological drivel and unhinged screeching for the better part of their entire existence, is yet to be seen. All the people still on the platform either haven't felt the need to jump ship or are comfortable constantly being in the spotlight, while everyone else moves on with their lives.

Really, the only good thing about Elon's takeover is that all of the historical events that have been published to Twitter can now be un-memory holed and archived in a museum somewhere --assuming they still exist on the servers somewhere.

i think that twitter is only a small cog in the workings of societal delusion. the greater media complex (including social media and traditional media) is manipulating society and i don't think that will stop with elons overtaking of twitter, cause cancle culture is still a thing, even if twitter now allows people to freely express opinions now.

it's "safe spaces" in universities and schools that raised an entire generation of people unfit to have a civil discussion about anything. these people will relentlessly push their opinions disregard of any factual validity or lack thereoff because they will just stuff their ears and go "mimimi" once opposing opinions or factual contradicitons to their views arise. i mean look at people like Anita Sarkeesian on one end of the spectrum and Andrew Tate on the other end. it's not that anyone is silenced. but idiotic extremists spreading outrageous bullshit get more traction than reasonable people. it creates a psoido online battle between camps representing opinions that nobody has. and i don't see that changing with musks overtaking of twitter.

We still have free speech, free speech doesn't mean you will be free of consequences. For example, people have the right to act like a total Karen in public and say rude things to people but most people will not like it and shun the behavior. If they pop off at the wrong person, they might get their teeth knocked out. Free speech will die when the day your government starts throwing you in jail, giving you fines, or worse putting you to death over what you say.

Just look at kayne. He ain't jail but he sure as he'll just lost a ton of money for his Jewish comments.

Freedom to say something isn't the same as being free from the consequences of saying it. I'm not sure why Americans seem to have such a problem grasping that concept.

There is not much "free speech" anywhere. I was on reddit and got banned. On youtube im a parasite to the algorythms , the whole of internet is controled based on some networks desired outcome. Gag is a place i can share certain ideas , but it will also exclude me once they decide I am incompatible with the conversations they want to upkeep. There is a certain time and a certain place for every action and every expression , and that includes free speech. If you think you are compatible to say anything at any given time then you are going to be dissapointed or wrong , or both. Some people are not capable to hear everything you have to say , and its just how existences are. You can't say everything you want at any given time , because we exist in societies of very different compositions , and truth be is that not everyone and not everything is compatible with each other , including speech , tone , and logic.
