Is it weird to be liberal but love the USA?

I love the USA, specifically towards the treatment towards Russians, I love our flag, I love the people, and the media here.

Not really. As a leftist, I don't view liberals as very progressive and definitely not leftist. Liberal usually means you only pay attention to a few things and are mainly enraged by social justice issues domestically. Most liberals (in terms of average every day people) seem to fit that mold. They're often not particularly educated about or as bothered by economic policies/structures (capitalism) or foreign policy and imperialism as we are. So "loves USA, hates Russia, likes our flag" could reasonably fit a liberal mold. Some liberals who aren't like that are probably more on the "progressive" side than just liberal.

It's normal for a native of a particular country to love their country because it's their heritage and land so it isn't weird at all you love the U. S. A. being a liberal but the now problem there's a sect of extreme unhinged liberals (minority) who dislike the U. S. A nor love their country but they don't represent not even close to the majority of Americans who like and love their country.

The only difference is that the extreme right pretend to love it while the extreme left openly hates it
