Should we have the "right to die"? What are your views on this?

Right to die or right to help with it? They are lost certainly not the same.

My best friend's father when we were growing up told him that there's not a person alive above 20 that never wanted it to end. While I am sure there might be some, I'd bet it is a truly small minority.

Many people alive and happy today would not be if they had an easier out. Of course no one should rob us of our choice to live or not. Trying to take that away from someone is insane. But there are a plethora or actions we should take to help them in life before helping people end it.

Despite my stance on a lot of people dying that would ultimately be happy I would still advocate in favor of helping people who want things to end. It just seems terribly irresponsible to start a discussion there and not at the point of what we can do to make life worth living.

I think there could be some psychiatric process for this. Like a Death Panel!!! (Duh dun, DUHHH!)


Ironically these procedures would force people wanting suicide to talk to experts and most, if not all, would change their mind. Having easy access to guns make suicides so easy that they think about it less - when perhaps the moment after they pulled the trigger they had changed their minds. Too late.


Cities install suicide hotline phones at frequent suicide locales like the Golden Gate Bridge. And that’s cut down on corpse removals considerably. I actually feel sorry for corpse removal teams being laid off…

Of course. And if you want to hear something funny... during the height of Covid, some euthanasia clinics in Europe wouldn't kill you unless you were vaccinated. They were just looking out for your safety.

Normal people are depressed but not ready to die. No one in their right mind WANTS to die.

I think we should, but it should be under VERY strict conditions. What we have seen is that in countries with euthanasia laws it gets expanded to people who are just “depressed” and in countries with ‘universal healthcare’ they expand it to cut medical costs.
