I live in Michigan and in our elections last night, the progressives totally dominated. What's it like where you live?

It's pretty progressive where I live.

My area is mixed and moderate.

I live in a conservative region.

In the interest of fairness, I have no idea what my state actually votes like because in the midterms this year, there was so much fraud demonstrated where vote counters, obviously cut and paste ballot counts into whatever slot they wanted to, because most counties had the exact same totals, despite having different populations, and so many machines in traditionally, red counties were broken or out of paper, or somehow or other, inaccessible that it isn’t really possible to tell what the vote tally was, with any degree of academic or ethical honesty.

It's a mixture of two extremes. There are a lot of very wealthy second home owners and elderly people who moved to the area after retiring, and they are generally very conservative. And then there are the locals, who are among the poorest in Europe, and their voting habits are perhaps best described as "contrary" - they have never voted for either of the two main political parties, and they have been campaigning for their own independence. In recent years, the numbers have started to swing more towards the first group. Needless to say, there's a lot of friction between the two...

Here's a screen shot of the breakdown. Over here RED (labour) AND GREEN ( plaid cymru) IS LEFT, BLUE (tory) IS RIGHT, THE REST ARE INDEPENDENTS.
So generally we lean left but the political make up is more mixed. This means we don't have problems with extremist nutjobs like you people.
It also means fuck all ever gets done and we have even less influence at the UK level.

usually when you drive through the neighborhood you see signs for both Democrats and Republicans (usually two neighbors next to eachother or in front). So mixed I guess.

Our premier, who barely won her bi election after the last one quit early is a pro Russia Anti Vax nutbar and the main opposition wants to allow 16 year old to vote and push for gay straight alliances and keeping secrets from parents in schools so ya.

I think both the county and city (suburb) where I live votes around 70-80% Republican. The city is roughly a quarter of the county population.

The greater metro area is more mixed, but it still leans Republican. The state is a bellwether state and very closely matches the country as a whole in voting patterns.

It is actually a mixture of left-wing progressivism and right-wing conservatism where I live. unfortunately, in the district where I live we have a rather persistent conservative representative who actually never does much of anything and is probably relatively harmless.

I think the dominant ideology where I live is ignorance. Buying into an us vs them mentality mindset doesn't benefit the people.. Why people elect those that seek out positions of power I'll never understand? They have a word for those people, they're called a psychopath.
