Happens a lot in UK. Called tactical voting. You don't vote for the candidate you really want. You vote to stop your least liked candidate winning.

I don't know how elections work in the UK, but in the US, once your vote is cast for a candidate, it's a done deal, there's no switching your vote. Found it really weird a candidates vote count went down while the other went up.

Our elections follow standard procedures and use a paper ballot with ID requirements. So he's at least been voted for.

As for all the fuckery, lot's of people are pissed yes, but they really took a dump on those protesters what with freezing their bank accounts and arresting a bunch of them.

The alternative also sucks so yeah rock and a hard place. It's a pretty subverted democracy over here too. Honestly we all need to consider serious government reforms in the western world. Our supposed democracies are all just designed to manufacture consent rather than allow for meaningful citizen participation.

I’m not sure I could purposely design a country which was more based on useless distractions from the causes of its citizens misery than the way the United States is being run. The resentment being manufactured by the government is having expensive and deadly consequences, which we have neither the patients nor the resources to recover from unassisted. I’m not sure whether they think they will somehow benefit from a Civil War, or if they’re just trying to keep the music playing as long as possible before the ride stops, and the people kick them off.
