What do you think of people who conceal carry firearms (legally)?

What is your impression on people who conceal care firearms legally? How would you react if you found out a friend/boyfriend/girlfriend carried?

I’m not really a fan of people using guns, period, so I never really have a positive impression of gun owners, maybe neutral at best. I guess probably usually neutral, in fairness, but the louder someone is about having a gun and the more they seem dependent on it or itching for a reason to use it, the less I respect them.

All that said, if you are going to own a gun, it seems PREPOSTEROUS to me to register it. Literally the only reason I would have a gun is to shoot and presumably kill someone. If I kill someone, I don’t want anyone to know I killed someone. I mean, fuckin’ DUH. I don’t even care if it’s legally defensible, if I kill someone, they’re not going to find the body for 150 years, lmfao, I’m not doing ANYTHING that would obviously tie me to the shooting. Seems absolutely crazy to me that people register their guns, other than just having to duck the cops with a hot gun. And the sentences are fucking ridiculous for an illegal gun, so I guess at the end of the day I’d rather rely on a less traceable weapon.

You register your gun bc u are following the law and not doing anything illegal. Even if you are using your gun, it would be for self defense, not bc u just want to kill someone. So when you paint gun owners as being mentally unstable, or “itching” to use their weapon, maybe look at yourself when you say you wouldn’t register your weapon and if u kill someone they wouldn’t find them for 150 years. I’m not unstable, I just don’t like having to explain myself to people. If I shot a home invader, completely excusably in the eyes of the law, I’m still not looking to clear it with the law, I don’t even know those fucking people. It’s not about if I’d get in trouble or not, it’s about the hassle. They’re not just going to be like “sir, it looks like you shot this man in self-defense, so we have no further questions, have a good night.” I don’t even want those dudes on my fucking property, and they’d be interviewing me, and there’d be an investigation…. I’m not going for that. I’d rather just body the dude, wrap him in a tarp, drag him down cellar, call it a night and hit the hay, and deal with figuring out the disposal in the morning. I’m not really married to or even that big of a proponent of society as we know it, organized law & order, etc. We’re just wild animals who figured out how to put pants on, lmao.

While it is none of my business, I would be around them much less once I found out for three reasons:
1. Unless you have an occupation in which carrying a firearm is normal, you likely are a bit paranoid and thus not in control of your emotions and are thus a danger.
2. If you do have control of your emotions and have a justifiable reason for carrying a firearm, then you are putting yourself in dangerous situations and I do not want to be a part of that.

It is unfair for you to call people paranoid for carrying a firearm legally. If you watch the news or even read up on current events online, you’ll see that innocent people are victims of violent crimes every day whether it’s just pumping gas in your car, or going to the bank, or the store, or inside your own home.

No, I don't. Apparently, reading comprehension among conservatives is a bit lacking.
I wrote that there are three kinds of concealed carry persons.
Group 1. People who are supposed to have guns as part of their profession, e. g., cops.
Group 2. People who are rational, but live in circumstances that justify carrying a weapon.
Group 3. People who are irrational or lack emotional control; they carry a weapon despite living in circumstances that do not justify carrying a weapon.

Groups 2 and 3 are people whom I would not want to be around.

Group 2 because they live in dangerous circumstances and I do not want to be subject to those circumstances as well.

Group 3 because they CREATE the dangerous circumstances themselves.

Where I live, there are plenty of folks who are part of Group 3 and, unfortunately, quite a few innocent people have been on the receiving end of the Group 3 people who do not have their shit together.

I have a concealed carry license myself. Everyone has a right to defend themselves. I’ve dated guys in the past who were a little weirded out by it but I don’t care. I very much have a libertarian mindset on most issues.

@DarkWinterNights Enjoy it while you can because I don’t believe it will last forever. Our society is becoming more violent and it’s increasingly being aimed at politicians. I believe we’ll come to a point where SCOTUS hands down a very different interpretation of the 2nd amendment and both parties enact harsh gun control as a means of self preservation.

I would encourage it. Especially my girlfriend. I carry as well. With the way crime is going up and no support for police, it is starting to become a more take matters into your own hands world.

I would rather be able to rely on myself than whatever is left of the police force showing up 20 minutes later to find whatever is left of me and a punk ass crook still on the street.
