Trending & News I can tell you what feminism says it is and what feminism is in practice, and those are two different things.
But as far as the toxicity you're talking about, yeah this is a very peculiar phenomenon. It's basically women saying "Hey, guys can be complete assholes and still be admired. WE should be allowed to be complete assholes, and that should be seen as empowering!" And then proceed to adopt only the most toxic traits of being a man and claiming everyone should love them for it.
Like... why not focus on *not admiring assholes*?
It's this weird obsession with *it's how a man is treated, so it must be better*. Like for instance one major thing that would reduce the wage gap is for women to work more hours and more overtime. That might make more money, but it is the *smart* decision? Statistically, women's choices have been shown to have a better work/life balance, maintained friendships, less loneliness, and feeling they have a life outside their job. Maybe we should be encouraging MEN to choose a better work/life balance instead.
So as much as I love talking about gender issues, feminism seems to have this sort of tunnel vision that women always have it worse and men always have it better, and it seriously misses a much more broad set of issues that, if they took the time to understand them, would be able to provide solutions that benefit everyone, and actually stick.
Feminism was used back in the day to gain rights as citizens and human beings. Do we still struggling with that today, yes… so feminism is still relevant.. however, the degree of which most women take feminism is actually contradictory to what the definition of it was supposed to be.
You can be a strong independent woman, but still need a man, still want a man. Still think men are important to society just like women are. Once we get to those views of feminism, they become super toxic. It’s just not what we need to focus on. I’m all for feminist as long as it’s not belittling or hating on men.
In addition to careers, feminism includ s men anticipating women's needs, or women being allowed to show anger and ask directly for what they want without wasting time sugar coating it.
This is just normal…. Or should be. Seems like feminism a lot of women want a advantage over men anymore

Truly strong independent women are no different from strong independent men.
The issue is that no man is walking around saying "I'm a strong independent man", because literally everyone would look at that guy and say grow the fuck up because if you're actually a strong independent man you're just being a normal adult. It's like a child boasting that they can pee in the toilet and wipe their own ass now.
Women who feel the need to tell people they are "strong independent women" are walking around with a neon sign over their heads that says "I have serious insecurities and/or a chip on my shoulder, and either way I will be a pain in the ass to any man I date".
Strong independent women are anything bur feminists. They sure like to think they are.
Honestly. Conservative women who shoot guns and work hard or farm or ranch. Those are my kinda girls
Modern feminism is BS. True Feminism is embracing your femininity and becoming the best version of yourself. You don't have to be a working woman to be a Feminist. Plenty of women would do best in a home environment.
Feminism is a wedge between women and men.
Doesn't raising a family make you "successful"?
