Why do you think young people vote for the Democratic Party?

I'm young and I don't vote, but I don't like progressive parties, in my country a progressive also won the presidency.

Because young people generally are impressionable, inexperienced, idealistic, dislike learning and being lectured, have a very high sense of self-importance (thinking that world revolves around them) and seldom have *earned* anything to lose (at best what they have to lose is what their parents got them). Therefore it's easier to sell them some sorts of bs wrapped in nice slogans, such as "for everything that's good and against everything that's bad" and unrealistic promises (which typically boils down to promises of free goodies, with little to no explanation at whose expensive those goodies will come from and how those who gotta pay for it are going to react).

Knowing this, it's even possible to sell them something that would outright harm them, hence why there are upper-class teens chanting on the streets "hooray for communism!" before they return to mansions where they live with their parents (apparently being completely oblivious of what would happen to them if actual commies would take over). They also have shorter memory span (comes along with shorter attention span due to rise of social media), therefore you can dupe them over and over again, and they still will come back for more delicious promises.

In this regard, they're somewhat similar to women -- they love with their ears, not with their brains.

"I dont like the progressive party because it's the popular thing to say." We get it already. Let me guess how you will respond that, "oh, you're a leftist." No, I am not brained-washed by American politics, and I am an independent thinker who doesn't define myself or put labels on myself.

No, I have anti-progressive thoughts even before progressivism was popular in my country, when the extreme right ruled.
