Why do conservatives hate the press and changed the name from press to media, why do they always play semantics whenever something is critical?

freedom of the press is enshrined in the first amendment of the constitution and yet conservatives want to censor and abolish the free press, it seems that apparently unless anyone or institution that is critical of them, they want to get rid of. Also they feel that the press should not have any negative cover of trump or their party, they have been whining about negative press coverage since bush Jr. illegally won the office of president.
