+1 yWhy did you have to equate homosexuality with the trans movement? Seriously why? They are two very different dynamics
Anyway the trans movement is 99% social contagion right now and it’s horrifying. What kind of insanity has this world come that people now even seriously considering giving children hormone blocking treatment (which the Biden administration supports by the way) or even worse providing gender “transition” surgery to minors is a good idea? This “treatment” causes irreversible changes to a child’s body. What happens if they later regret it and now its next to impossible to go back? It’s worse than pedophilia in my opinion.
While gender dysphoria is a real mental condition it is exceedingly rare. There would have be very consistent symptoms that aren’t influenced by the environment that would be indicative of this. But even then I wouldn’t ever support any “treatments” until the kid was at least 18 and legally an adult. If they want to do a transition at that point and 100% believed it was the “right” thing to do I would respect their decision. But until then I will call them by the pronoun they were born with.
Now as for homosexuality that’s another topic. Truth is my mind has fluctuated from first believing it was a decision, then believing it was genetic and now I’m starting to believe again that the environment has a heavy influence (social contagion). Reason being is that recent statistics have generation Z identifying as 21% lgbtq. That’s insane increase from older generations. No way in hell that 1/5 of all human beings fall into that category. No.
I wouldn’t reject my kid if they said their were gay but I wouldn’t “celebrate” it either. I would say that’s your choice and I will support you either way. But I wouldn’t encourage nor criticize it. Just be indifferent.

- denying they are trans
- misgendering them... a few times in public
- mocking them in the clothes store
"Sour, you absolute transphobic whore! You're not respe-" It's my name. But also my kid. And the last thing I wanna see if my (nonexistent) baby not be prepared for what people will say. But trans is something else. I'd go into protective mode. I would refuse to allow any drugs or medical procedures and I would seek competent psychological help for my kid. Trans a symptom of severe mental problems that are being encouraged and promoted as being normal and cool by certain sectors of society. It's not a physical problem.
You have to learn to live with the body you were born with. It's impossible to switch.10 Reply
+1 yTrans, absolutely not- they'd be put in therapy immediately, and probably sent to another country for schooling- as this country's public school system is pretty much an indoctrination camp for that mental illness.
If they came to me as gay, it would depend if it were my son or daughter. The daughter I'd counsel her, and try to get her over whatever fetish/ phase made her want to do that, but honestly it wouldn't be that bad for my girl to never be with any guys- as long as she wasn't a hoe for women.
If it was my son he'd be kicked out of the family, and I'd never talk to him again- my wife would probably be softer toward him, but he'd never be allowed over, especially around my other kids.

+1 yI don't think I'd have much of a problem if they were gay, that's fine.
As for transgender, yes, although I don't agree with it and I'd rather they go and see someone to get help - basically, I think you are what you are from a biological POV, regardless of how you feel.
That being said, I refuse to treat someone like shit, due to them being gay or transgender and anyone who does, is an asshole, whether it's family or someone outside of it.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNo. I'd send them to Christian Conversion Camp. I was a Councillor in one, it's where I met my wife. Various conversion treatments are used to help you walk on the straight and narrow path. Hours of prayer, counciling, religious study, canning, spanking, paddling, aversion therapy, Psychoanalysis, Hypnosis water boarding and marraige therapy.
I've seen first hand how this works. My wife used to be a lesbian and had a secret girlfriend growing up, she was very unhappy because of it. I remember when her parents dropped her off on the first day age 15. My wife and I are happily married with kids and have a good sex life, the thought of sleeping with another woman again now makes her physically sick thanks to the treatment she received and embraces Jesus and a Christian life.

He wrote us a letter and said he "didn't want to talk about it". Of course we talked about it. We let him know that as long as he is happy, then that is all that matters.

+1 yWhat is your definition of "acceptance"? If by "acceptance" you mean that I will recognize them as my child and hug them and express affectionate sort of things that parents show to their children? Yes, I would.
If by "acceptance", you mean that I would approve of their lifestyle? No. I would pray for them and encourage them to meet with the elders of my church.

@goaded are you really gonna sit here and deny that they're leftist lunatics advocating for kids as young as 8-12 years old to get surgery done? And trying to. pass these bills and have huge support? Are are you gonna burrow your head under a rock and pretend it's not happening as long as the big bad conservative or Trump is not in office that's just more important right?
- +1 y
@Fuentes Yes, I'm going to deny that they're leftist lunatics advocating for kids as young as 8-12 years old to get surgery done. Show me someone saying that. Not just admitting it might sometimes be necessary, but advocating for it.
If a right-winger says their guns are there to take on the government, are they advocating for taking on the government? - +1 y
@goaded you think guns and kids surgery is the same thing? Are you sick? Lololol just look up Beto O Ourouke the guy had Hella votes and people support him on giving kids gender surgery early. If I can admit they're right wing nuts why can't you admit that you have leftist nuts who want weird stuff for children.
- +1 y
@Fuentes No, I'm saying the argument is the same. Is demanding something be a right the same as advocating for that right to be exercised, or not?
I might admit they're left-wing nuts, if you actually show me anyone "advocating for kids as young as 8-12 years old to get surgery done". You haven't even shown me someone advocating for kids as young as 8-12 years old to be *permitted* to get surgery done.
Utter the words "Second Amendment" on here, and you'll get a dozen people telling you it's to take down the government, rather than for state governments to protect themselves (under the control of that civilian government). Talk about transition surgery or late term abortions, the argument you'll hear is "leave it up to the individuals and their doctors". That is not being a "left-wing nut", that's advocating people's freedom over their bodies. - +1 y
@goaded for an adult that's advocating but that's not good for children.
calmatters.org/.../
They're pushing for it - +1 y
@Fuentes Uh, no, they're saying if people need it, they won't be prosecuted. It's protecting vulnerable people from draconian laws in their own states. It is not saying to a single person "you should transition", it's saying "if you transition, you're safe and free in California".
Same as open carry states are saying you're free to carry a firearm openly in our state.

@goaded: God didn't make them that way. People becoming perverted and do all kinds of wickedness when they reject God.
Romans 1:18-32
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
- +1 y
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.
- +1 y
This is what your religion really teaches?
If they're all "deserving of death", why haven't you killed all the people who are "whisperers, backbiters, ... violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful", unrighteous, immoral, wicked, covetous or malicious?
It's a wonder churches still have any members left, except you can do all those things and be forgiven, if you just give to the church.
It sounds like you'd be happier some place like Iran or Afghanistan. - +1 y

Or you just don't care and think they should snap out of it or something, just like people thought about homosexuality 50 years ago. - +1 y

They don't. There are limitless ways that any two brains will differ, it's just that a trans woman has a brain that is more like the typical female brain than the typical male brain.
