Why is politeness and courtesy seen only as an obligation for men to treat women? However, such humane things should be for everyone from everyone. Shouldn't a woman be kind to a man if a man is to be kind to a woman? Everyone should be kind to everyone, gender etc. regardless.

According to the person who says he should treat women kindly and politely, he says yes when I ask if men should be treated like this. So why the most fundamental incarceration with sex? Everyone should be treated like this anyway, so it has no gender.

I get what you're saying but in reality their are a lot of unspoken power dynamics at any given moment. For myself I'm a giant dude 6'8 350 lb. I get that being around me can be scary and i try to mitigate that as much as possible. That means being polite.
I get that it's not intuitive but thats why culturally we have such a hard fast rule on it. Small mistakes get people hurt too much too often.
