I lived during Ronald Reagan's presidency and one of my bosses was an aide to President Reagan for two years.

I think that, yes, he liked both Democrats and Republicans. That's because President Reagan like people and respected people for their humanity. He may have disagreed with how they wanted to shape and enact policy and he may not have liked their politics but he liked them.

That was a big difference between then and now. Back then people weren't defined by their political party affiliation, that was something they believed in or had a preference for.

So, I believe Reagan liked both.

It was well known that he was friends with Tip O;Neil. I think he would like all kinds of people and even if he did not he recognized that you had to work with them.
