I remember waking up on September 11th 2001 to my father screaming at the television.
He took me in the car and we drove to a road called skyline drive where you could see the NYC skyline.
Billowing black smoke was rising from the city and the twin towers were nowhere to be seen.
I finally understood why my father had screamed.

They'd remember the year 2000 for sure, and probably also the late 1990's (98 and 99).
People are stupid on here. Of course most people would, why wouldn't you remember a major even when you're 7 years old if you can remember school, friends, most other things.
And same with the 90's, most people can remember when they were 5/6 years old.
I was born in 1996 and I do remember 9/11 and I don’t remember the 90s but I absorbed its vibe because it’s related to my generation up bringing

No, not at all! They would've been 'almost-babies' by the time 9/11 happened. They would not remember the 90s and would be 7 or 8 when 9/11 happened. People's long-term memories aren't clear until at least the age of 10.
I am sure they would from coverage and parents etc...
