Is it fair to say that a highly intelligent person has it easier overcoming/solving problems in life than the average would?

I am classed as a genius (185 IQ) I also have mild autism and life is far from easy for me, just because I’m smart doesn’t mean I know everything despite the fact people think I do, there’s certain things I don’t understand like maths, people, and the certain ways of doing things.


I don’t understand the way people think and it’s annoying as I wonder why some people are just so dumb and can’t see what’s going on around them, this is why I don’t bother with people much as they not only annoy me but they also bore me,


I do find some things in life a challenge but that is likely from my abusive childhood and not being allowed to do anything so I have to learn to do it all now which is also frustrating and annoying as at my age I should know all these things,


I also have awful anxiety and depression which is brought on by abuse as a child and people being just annoying.


I also find it hard to communicate what I want to say without getting distracted or flustered.


So no I don’t have it easy I wish I did.

nope, definitely not...

emotional intelligence is as important, and perhaps even more important as a component to most problems in life

and way more often than not, the higher your intellect is the more you could struggle in so many other aspects

but I talking about the truly and highly intelligent people and not just the very intelligent people, which there's many now those have much better chances to balance emotion and reason but even for them, it is not guaranteed... lol

I agree with this one... so it should affect relationships or interpersonal interactions with others too and need a key of balance.

exactly, balance is they key... but, higher intelligence can bring a lot of CHAOS, to your every single day, so it becomes very challenging in so many ways that it will often get on your way, lol

I know several intelligent people severely depressed because life is easy in some regards, but they can't seem to figure out the rest. Life isn't empirical, and you can't figure everything out with your IQ. I would say life is sometimes HARDER for them. Ignorance is bliss, as they say...

Generally fair.

All else being equal, if the only difference is high or average intelligence, the more intelligent person will generally do better.

It does however come with some caveats. Sometimes, a lot of the time, things work out as long as we try. However there can also be many considerations that would give us pause and prevent us trying.

Of course somewhere down the line, most personal problems stem from our own minds and so tend to match our own abilities.

I think it depends if they have book smarts or street smarts. I don't think book smarts guarantee success
