Like goaded said, Trump was president during the majority of the lockdown. Certainly willing to hear arguments about small businesses getting shafted while big corporate stores remained open. My hope would be that the decision was based upon just having the fewest amount of open businesses possible to subsequently have the most number of people staying home possible, and one big store open is theoretically better than six small stores. Also the supply chain would be much more reliable from a huge corporation as theyâd likely have so much more product warehoused across the country than any mom-and-pop shop could. Iâm sure it was a difficult decision, but it was a difficult time that no one alive had really dealt with, other than the odd super-elderly person who was a baby for the Spanish Flu in 1918, and that was a much different time anyway. It was truly unprecedented for our living generations and our modern era, so I hold no one at fault for anything that was done in the name of caution. Over-cautious is just fine with me.
