Why do Americans treat their enemies so kindly?

Well, first off, Muslims aren't our enemies. Oh, many of our enemies are Muslims, but that's because of their faith in governance by fear and slaughtering anyone who doesn't believe what they do, not because they call God by a different name (I mean, c'mon, it's even THE SAME GOD).

We punish people who commit crimes, not who have different ideas. We'd be invidious hypocrites if we made a Constitutional Amendment for free religion and then said "except Muslims".

Beyond that: the first enemy the country had was the King of England- should we have sailed over there and forcibly deposed him? Killed everyone speaking with an English accent? After we took care of THAT nonsense, it was the French- the grossly unConstitutional Alien and Sedition acts were parts of an undeclared war with France we were fighting, and France was the reason that we even WON the revolution (well, one of the reasons, but a big one). Should we make croissant consumption illegal, or ban people being from Louisiana?

The three principles that liberal democracy is based on are free expression (you should be free to criticize the king), meritocracy (you shouldn't be excluded from the job for not being the king's cousin), and due process (you shouldn't be thrown in jail just because the king says so); discrimination on the basis of religion violates all three.

I think it has mainly to do with hope. Why are American soldiers a cohesive fighting unit and insurgents have to dug themselves up to fight? Because deep down they know everything is based on a series of lies to support thier hate. I mean this at the heart of why our country could not make Iraq and Afghanistan prosperous no matter how many American lives were sacrificed or how much money was injected into it. One American soldier who was training Afghani forces said it best "we can train this guys, we teach them all we know, but we cannot make them care about thier country. That has to come from them". I think most American's have a deep belief in what they work and strive for. Our country in ruled by the rule of law. Those countries are permeated with fear and ignorance.

No I’m saying there is a reason why we have an electoral system so that populous cities don’t dictate states and leave rural communities subject to the elite. That’s why we have an Election Day not election week. The election was stolen but legally since states changed their voting laws prior to 2020. Trump wanted to move Election Day to a later day since thr left was saying people can’t stand in lines due to Covid but then their response to moving the date was that he wanted to be dictator for longer so their position was to extend the voting period for a week to “keep people safe” yet knowingly that it would ensure their base to have more time than a day to outvote Republicans are remove Trump after their 4yrs of unsuccessful attempts to disrupt his administration
