Are young people truly struggling because of inflation or is it because they don't know how to manage a budget?

I see a lot of young people say they are living paycheck to paycheck because of inflation, but those exact same people are also buying a brand new car with monthly payments and a brand new iPhone/Samsung with monthly payments. I also see these same people eating out at restaurants all the time and constantly going shopping to malls or shopping on Amazon etc. So are young people truly struggling because of inflation or is it because they spend money they don't have on things they don't need?

I don’t think it’s the single factor of inflation. But I also don’t think inflation has no impact.


At the end of the day, blaming the economy isn’t going to help anyone’s financial situation.


Taking responsibility and being a leader unto oneself is what’s going to help someone develop the financial discipline, work ethic, and resourcefulness to improve their situation.


Taking responsibility is empowering, because it acknowledges and highlights that there is something you can do to change your life.


Blaming this or that and figuring out who to blame does not result in a solution.


The solution is to take action. Inflation can’t “take action” but you can.


So the struggle isn’t because of inflation. It’s because people aren’t taking the right action and making the right moves they need to make in order to improve their life.

I’m disabled and I’m on benefits due to my disability’s, I get my money once a month I don’t get a load either, yet I can manage, most people get more than me and say they struggle, well if you didn’t buy junk you wouldn’t struggle,


I pay all my bills on time I also buy my food weekly I used to do it monthly but found I was binning a tonne, so I do it every week now, I also have money left over which I spend on whatever I like. You have to learn to budget better.

Sure many people do spend money on unnecessary things, but that isn’t new. You can be as much of a tightwad as you want, but that doesn’t change that fuel, food, housing and more have gone up +50% in the last 2-3 years and wages haven’t budged
