Is there really a such thing as the New South?

Recently I visited the small town where I was born in Virginia.

It was still the same after 40 years. The descendants of slaves working for the same wealthy families they worked for before.

The same neighborhoods, racially divided.

Hell there was even a store downtown called the "Feed and Seed."

I think the Yankees just call it "New South" because it makes them feel less homesick when they migrate down here to get away from themselves.

The majority of African Americans live in the old South and more are fleeing the North for the South away from detroit, Chicago, L. A., Newyork etc for a better life.

Most of the work slaves did for those families is all done by machine now.

The New South is Charlotte and Rale9gh-Durham NC, Atlanta, GA, Northern VA within 50 miles of Washington.
