People, for the most part, deserve second chances.
But, the real issue I think is that we cancel to much for the wrong reasons. Or we apply today's morality/today's social mores/today's fads to things that people did literally a lifetime ago. We don't make a distinction between the Harvey Weinsteins and Jeffrey Epsteins of the world and the guy who made a dumb comment 20 years ago.
So, yes, give people an opportunity to get back on track.
Do you subscribe to a 3 strikes policy then?
Agreed!
Are there offenses which should offer zero opportunity to make amends and start anew?
The phenomenon of cancel culture is relatively new. It is only practiced by liberals and it is a shame that the liberals control Hollywood. Kid Rock said that we would be amazed at some of the people in show biz that are conservatives but he would never rat them out
The whole ring reminds me of McCarthy in the 1950s with blacklisting only Mccarthy did it to fight commies. The liberals ARE commies.
You do recognize the irony of your response, in total, yes?
Not everyone will.

celebrities can always recover from cancel culture. average people don't have that luxury
“Always” might be a bit strong. If they are smart with their money, they can definitely afford to be out of work longer than the average schmoe.
Cancel culture is bullshit. Let the people decide who they want to watch. If disagreeable lowlifes can still sell tickets good luck to 'em, they are helping the economy.
Cancel culture is garbage. I fully support anyone coming back.
There's no such thing as being canceled. Good lord stop living your life on social media. You sound russian and you sound like a woman
They should never have been cancelled. If you don't like free speech, just ignore it.
That’s not an appropriate response in any imaginable way. Care to try again?
The question isn’t about whether or not cancellation is appropriate. It’s about whether or not cancelled celebrities should be given a meaningful path forward. Celebrities ARE being cancelled, right or wrong. Do you accept their finding a way back from that?
People generally deserve a second chance.
“Generally”, what behaviors deserve less than one opportunity to make amends and start over?
So when Bob kills the person who raped and murdered Bob’s child because the criminal was never even arrested, as son of the sheriff and leading candidate for mayor, Bob doesn’t deserve a second chance?
THAT is a dilemma!
THAT is “justice” in the US.
If “impaired judgment” is reason to exclude any judgment, then it is reason to exclude all judgments. How else might you arrive at “justice”?
You are mistaken. Please provide evidence of judgement beyond all reproach, or take the time to reconsider your own ignorance.
I never called you anything. Feel free to see yourself away from my content and contributions.
It’s also not name-calling. If you struggle with a need for “friendliness” and/or “respect” online, then you should abandon the internet. You’ll get little of either here. I’m sure it stings that i say this. I’ve read some of your content. But you’ll be better off in the end. I guarantee it. Stop following me here. DM me. I know CPR.
Reap what you sow!
Everyone does. That’s not an appropriate response to the question though. Care to try again?
If someone does something stupid, then people should show them by not buying what they're selling or not following them. Vote with their wallets.
Some stupid things people do can be recovered from, others cannot ir should not!
I largely agree!
Thank you.
Some celebrities deserve to be cancelled
As worded, you seem to be opposed to the people as opposed to their behavior. I can wholly disagree and strongly recommend you reconsider your position on the matter.
I don’t have to have an opinion on the person if their behavior speaks volumes
