The question of continued union is the question of whether or not we can respect our differences in the limits of law or require the borders of forces.

The past 200 years has made something of a mockery of the defensibility of the limits of our Federal Constitutional law.

At the same time the last 50 years has further illustrated the ever diminishing value of the present union having been largely replaced in its original functionality by new international institutions such as USMCA, United Nations, and NATO.

So the question is what is the modern propose of the Federal Goverment?

Would not the significant regional and cultural differences between us be better addressed and respected by the loser bonds which already exist in theses new international institutions?

As such there is great sense in the suggestion. MTG is very much representing her constituency as there is great desire in the Southern states she represents for independence, a near outright majority last I checked.

Washington D. C. has largely replaced itself with international institutions and is now trying to take on state like roles for which it is very poorly suited.

It's sheer size is also a major obstacle to the development of theses other continental and international organization.

The main reason Texas Grid is not as well connected aside from Texas pride is to some avoid already unlawful federal regulations. Were she to again raise her head among the nations of the world there would be less reason avoid too many connections.

Regardless The Texas grid has been improved significantly and short of an ever greater natural disaster is not likely to fall. Unlike the California grid which still endures rolling brown outs by political choice of the state.
