What we see on the tv and in the papers do you think the police are bullies and why …?

I think you have to be careful what you glean from TV and the newspapers, media likes to swing things to the side that sells news and keeps their ratings up. So cops are an easy target and media groups aren't exactly the most honest bunch. They've been known to stretch the truth and be either sued by the cops or citizens for that matter.

I am not saying some police officers aren't bullies, being in control like they are can go to a person's head. However, I don't think all cops are bad and tripping on power. Just like any job that hires in droves, there is always going to be some idiot (s) hired to the work force. So it is somewhat to be expected.

That being said, if someone truly dislikes cops and bad mouths them all the time, then they shouldn't call them when something goes wrong. One would be a bit of hypocrite if you're flipping them off with one hand and dialing 911 on the other when you or a loved one needs assistance.

For the most part no when I was a teen I would have argued other wise as rhe majority of interactions with them was after school in the hight of trident days so I was constantly getting stopped and searched but I know understand its completely down to the person doing it

It certainly now appears that there are more pedophiles and murderers within all ranks and regions of the police authorities, than one could ever have possibly imagined.

Thankfully my employment within the police authority is, for want of a better expression, light years away from those that I've mentioned above.

I think the ones you see on TV or in the paper were having a bad day in the wrong place at the wrong time. But in my unfortunately high number of police encounters in my life, I've noticed that the majority of them are decent folk doing their best to follow the law and do their job in the most sensible way possible.
A little cooperation and respect goes a long way with the police.

A few of my friends and family are police and it’s not an easy job but they should train them to defuse situations and always treat people with dignity and respect

There will always be people who abuse their power but just remember no one is above the law

I know hundreds of cops. I did know some that used to like to brutalize people although most deserved it. I did know a guy who beat up a kid so bad he sustained some brain damage.
