Trending & News I'm watching a documentary and its British English only, and it's torture listening to these people. British English accent sounds horrible.

Both, it's a tie, American English is easier to comprehend in a general sense and the standard due to Hollywood but I do consume a lot of British Media like shows, music, etc and meet more people who went to the British Schools. I'm used to both.
I'm okay with either. I've spent quite a bit a of time in the UK (I lived in London for several months) and have gotten used to the different terms as well as the accent.
Two word differences that can get you in trouble:
suspenders - hold up men's pants on American English; in British English, they hold up a lady's stockings, which are called garters in American English
rubbers - condoms in American English, in British English, a rubber is an eraser
Respectfully - it may seem that way to your ear if you aren't born into that culture - the same may be felt by people in briton by listening to Texas English, or American English.
As for the sayings and common regional slang/term for certain items - I think both work perfect - and perhaps a mix of the two side's phrases for similar things does too overtime - that will have the best of both worlds.
Bristish accent sounds so cute but too hard to understand. I live in Turkey and when i was in college i was working as a waitress. I had some customers from UK and i couldnt understand a single word lol One them traslated English to English for me 😂

British tbh I’m American which means I should hate British people right? Naw it’s between the British and Spanish accent that is the sexiest in the world as far as women goes, Get me into a room with Penelope Cruz, Keira, Knightley, and a box of condoms and we’re having some fun. But I love listening to British people in general
I know what you mean. I hate watching British movies because they don't even try to speak clearly. Which kills me because you take an actor like Ewan McGregor. Most American movies like star wars and you can understand him just fine. But I watched a movie called trainspotting the other day and it was so bad it was like he was sticking an ice pick in my ear for 2 hrs. So you know they can speak clearly if they try.
The funny thing is, there are so many different British accents.
And I love them all.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/u_BDG9JtGw8British because I already listen to mostly American irl. If I'm watching media, some change is nice.
Don't watch then? greetings from England by the way, wtf is British English anyway? allt the best, my PM is open to you if you wish, you might to look into the concenpt of received pronouncianciation ,
Accent? American.
British are weird with this "not pronouncing r"
I agree it's horrible and slow, I don't know how some people find it cute🤮
Never heard it called British English. It’s English as that’s where it’s from. We don’t talk about Portuguese Portuguese, it’s Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese.
Brittish English. It is easier to understand and makes more sense.
British talk is kinda sexy sometimes hard to understand
There are comedic shows that the main draw are the brits, or the South Carolinian accents. So…both?
American English is easier for me to understand, but British English sounds nicer.
American English is easier. But in my country we speak both British English and American English
Which country?
I prefer the British English.
I've a thing for British women.
