NO minor should be allowed to make such a life altering decision. They are too young, their brains are still too far from being fully developed to be allowed to make that decision. 10-12 year olds can't vote, can't drive, can't drink, they make all sorts of poor, impulse driven decisions. They sure as hell aren't old enough to say, yeah, I want to change my body to another sex, give me the life altering drugs and surgeries.

16 is about as low as I go for the acceptable age. I'd prefer 18 but I could probably live with 16.

Also make sure each parent must call the teacher for decision regarding the student. Such as bath time, dinner choices, and bedtime. Even call the teacher early in the morning for clothing choices

This way the complete safety of the student is cared for by the school and teacher

I am not a close minded religious nut, and I would never punish anyone for being trans.

However, the schools are nothing but a teaching facility. They are not substitute parents. I would want to know all these grubby little secrets a school has.

Thing is, as parents, I would know my children better than anyone. Just like my mother knows me, even at 28 years old. It would very quickly become obvious what is going on.

No I would never punish my children if they came out as trans as there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Suicide rates are already ridiculously high for trans individuals and there is no way I would ever contribute to the unaliving of my children due to ignorance and hate.

Why would they feel they were born in the wrong body. They could feel like they don't like their body I suppose but not sure of they feel they are in the wrong one.

In any case, no, but the medical cure for gender dysphoria is transitioning to help with dysphoric feelings. The cure for anorexia is not starving them to work on dysphoria.

I’d bat an eye if you wanted a breast augmentation but after you got one you still felt the need to kill yourself at 5x the general population. Mabe the augmentation isn’t the solution to your weird feelings about your body. Maybe understanding that having small titties is really ok, and a better route. I’d really bat an eye if you were encouraging teen girls to get implants when there is nothing wrong with them. Especially if those implants made them infertile.

Generally the suicide rate and subsequently the detransition rate are tied not to being able to transition or not, its the unsupportive people around them. Rates go down when transgender individuals have a healthy support system around them.

Most transitions of minors is social. Change of name/clothes/pronouns. Minors are not getting surgeries. Its hard enough to get them on hormone blockers which doesn't make them infertile and is reversible if they discontinue taking them for whatever reason.

I need your studies proving that claim that minors are getting surgeries. I know as a cis woman its still hard as hell to even get a hysterectomy if she is healthy just in case she "might want kids when she gets older". Minors sure as heck are not getting gender confirming surgeries they way you are making it sound.

I said they are not getting surgeries the way you are making it sound, not that it never happens. Most surgeries performed on minors are mastectomies which last I checked dont make you infertile. Most surgeries are also performed on 16 and older which in some states is age of consent so again nothing really wrong here.

Prepubescent minors (save those born intersex) are a mass majority receiving hormonal and therapy options.

Frankly I'm disappointed. I had time to get a shower and come back to see a study like I asked for and all you delivered was a website for a hospital and a tabloid rag. Let me help you with an actual study.
