Would you let your kid be friends with a kid who has trans parents?

Our daughter isn't old enough for school yet, but I'm worried once she is just us being her parents could make it harder for her to make friends. Not because of other kids, the next generations seem to be getting less and less bothered by it. I'm worried she will make friends, and then if she mentions that about us or if I ever meet her friends parents they might not want their kid to be friends with her anymore.

I know this may be a silly fear especially since it's still years away. It's not like I wasn't friends with people my parents didn't like in school. Am I just overthinking this after all?

I don't think so. I wouldn't want my impressionable young child to be influenced by that or think it's normal. If my kid even heard of trans-sexuality, I would want them to think it's abnormal.
Once they got old enough to understand sexuality, I would help to inform them about the realities.

Do you think you would totally forbid them from being friends, or just not want them to go to the friends house or be around her parents?

I don't think I'd want my kids learning about trans-sexuality from the kid. I don't want them to get confused into thinking that a man can be a woman or a woman to be a man.

I wouldn't want my kid to be mean to them or anything. I just wouldn't want them to hang out together. And I'd feel sorry for the kid who had "trans" parents.

Okay. I certainly don't plan to teach her any intimate details of being transgender, but if she asks about it I'm not going to lie to her so, she might have a very basic/simplified understanding by the time she's in school. I still have to reach decision with my husband about it tho because he does want to lie to her so she won't have to worry about it until she's older, kind of like you'd want for your kid. I don't want her to be surprised tho bc I agree their own parents should be the one to teach them.

Liberals are extremely more common than trans people are, and not all trans people are liberal. You wouldn't want your kid to be friends with any kids of liberal parents? That could limit the pool a lot, especially depending on where you live...

Of course! I'd be more worried if the parent was a transphobe, they tend to be obsessed with kids genitals. Trans people I wouldn't be worried about.

i wouldn't mind about being trans. i care more about for their "values" and how they parent.

What values are most important to you as a parent?

that their parenting style sort of matches my own so we can actually converse and understand how we're trying to parent our kids with rules and boundaries. that they're polite and try to instil that in their kids and don't mind that I am a stressed out, over stimulated parent who's trying her best but parenthood sucks for me.

Well I certainly try to be polite and teach my kid proper boundaries and manners. I get stressed out too so I understand that, parenting is hard even now and I can't imagine it will be any easier when she's older. I don't know what all the different parenting styles are called tho we're just sort of using a mix of several principles that have good studies on them and what we think our own parents did that worked well.
