Political views seem to change over time - how have yours changed?
I think the question assumes that political ideology is determined solely by age, which is not necessarily the case. While there may be some correlation between age and political ideology, factors such as education, socioeconomic status, and life experiences can also play a significant role.
The question oversimplifies political ideology by framing it as a binary choice between liberal and conservative. In reality, political ideology is much more nuanced and can encompass a range of beliefs and values. Moreover, the meaning of the terms "liberal" and "conservative" can vary depending on the context and the individual's interpretation.
I think the question assumes that political ideology is a fixed and unchanging characteristic. However, individuals may shift their political views over time due to changing circumstances, new information, or evolving social norms.
It assumes a linear trajectory of political ideology, suggesting that individuals must move towards either the liberal or conservative end of the spectrum as they age. This ignores the possibility of political centrism, where individuals may hold moderate or mixed views on different issues.

+1 yNo. I would remain the same from a political standpoint.
Free education, free healthcare and welfare programs for those who need it. (citizens only).
If something needs to be changed over the course of time, then I would support a change instead of continuing with the status quo that no longer serves the greater people.

Probably more conservative but not conservative with a capital 'C' meaning a) not aligned with a specific party and b) not aligned with the Conservatives as identified out in the current U. S. political landscape.
What I've found is that I'm open to new ideas and changes just not all of them and not all of them.
I also don't believe that everything needs to be part of governing the country. And everything doesn't need to be an Issue. And a fight. And a referendum on patriotism. And just because one group of people doesn't like the beliefs of the other group of people doesn't mean that the first group is toxic or hostile. It means they don't like something.
Anyway, I find myself leaning more in the direction of my upbringing than all the fads that have grown up in the last ten years.

+1 yI have always been mostly conservative (Center - Right) just like the rest of my family. Will I become "more" conservative? I don't know. But I will never be a liberal. One interesting thing I remember reading is that "Most" people tend to become more conservative as they get older. They gaon greater life experience which moves them to the right because they align better with conservative policies. Many kids these days are socialists and even communists because they have been brainwashed by the leftist institutions. But I believe many of them will eventually move to the right. Especially once they start a family. That's when things really change. The famous investor, Kevin O'Leary was a socialist until he got his first paycheck and realized that socialism was a scam.

+1 yI think more conservative, but I fluctuate based upon issues and how I relate.
It's possible as I get older, if I don't have enough money, I become more liberal... because I need help.
Maybe it be healthier to think about how I want to live my life and focus on good behavior, rather than policy. There's a difference between whom I want to be within my community and what policies should be in place to manage all of society.
00 Reply More liberal, but only because the conservatives have been throwing around ideas like bringing god “back” into government… I’m sorry, but not only has god never been in American government; it shouldn’t ever be.

I agree. It's the major reason I never support conservatives. Religion doesn't belong in politics. Furthermore, the religious ALWAYS feel they are correct. No compromising.

@supercutebutt to be fair, the liberals have become increasingly uncompromising as well in America. I’m not sure what it is about conservative ideas that appeal to religious people, but they certainly don’t need to go hand in hand.

"The liberals". LOL. You are falling for boogeyman rhetoric. The Democratic Party is a diverse mix with a sprinkling of wackos. For example, it's a lie that if you vote Democratic, you want to defund the police. FOX tries to scare dummies with one or two comments from extremists and assign them to everyone in the party. These days, you have to be a denier of reality to be a conservative. Conservatism=Extremism. If you don't fall in line, they call you a RHINO. They want you gone. Trump lost. January 6th was a crime. Gay people exist. Racism exists. We have always had a border that immigrants cross. And religion was created to keep dumb people in line. The problem is, dummies can't understand the rules. Loving thy neighbor now means beating them over the head with a Trump flag.

@supercutebutt Conservatism absolutely does not equal extremism. With that comment, you're just the liberal MSNBC/CNN equivalent of the FOX watching Trumpers. Obviously any kind of blanket statement about any group of people is going to be inaccurate, but Democrats are refusing to rein their wackos in. The wackos are dictating Democrat policy. By the same token of what you just said; the Democratic party refuses to acknowledge the reality of gender, that the border situation got way worse under Obama and Biden, that Democrat taxation policies are killing small businesses, that bodily autonomy includes the right to choose whether to have a vaccine, they refuse to acknowledge the damage their rehetoric is having on young boys; the list goes on and on.

There are extremists in all politics and all religions. However, the current Republican Party rewards extremism. Did you watch the vote for Speaker of the House. Extremism won. Stop believing propaganda. It's embarrassing. If I hear one more doofus moan about "gender", so help me. It's insignificant and irrelevant. What the fuck do you care how someone identifies? The disingenuous conservatives PRETEND to care as a ruse, luring in dumbass voters who will ultimately give tax breaks to the wealthy if it means a man can't dress as a lady. George Santos is a goddamn drag queen! But he is for tax cuts for fat cats. That's ALL they care about. Gender? LOL! You wanna know what is significant? Gun violence, the environment and the threat of autocracy stealing our freedom. Actual problems. You must be trolling.
- +1 y
@supercutebutt I don't care how somone else identifies, that's not my point. The point I was making is that the people you consider wackos are having a bigger impact on the party than you are assuming. And that possibility is worth looking into. It's not like this is my opinion either; if you look into the policies your representatives are supporting, you'll see that there's a lot of stuff doesn't line up with the more moderate liberal ideas.
- +1 y
I vote on actual issues. Republicans currently stand for nothing EXCEPT getting tax breaks for the wealthy. It's painfully obvious. For example, every day the entire party is inching closer to fully supporting Putin. Why? Because Democrats support Ukraine. And if they can get votes from dummies over the issue, they will stop at nothing. Lie about a stolen election, lie about January 6th, lie, lie, lie. They sold their souls. And you buy into the BS on gender? So sad.
- +1 y
@supercutebutt I'm not buying into anything, I'm just acknowledging that the Democrats aren't any better than the Republicans.
