He's been seen in the night when it's dark and cold

He's been seen in the morning and afternoon too
and if he's spotted, it's time to be blue

He's been seen in the woods and in the city streets
and he's been seen in our homes with chocolatey treats
He's been seen in the parks and in the stores
and if he's there, it's time to be sure

To be sure that you've locked up your sweets
so the cookie monster can't have his treats
For if he's spotted, it's cause for alarm
because he's a menace and will do us harm
