He tries to act like it was the right decision. If you ask actual experts about this, they would say you could’ve left a couple thousand non-combat advisors there and that would’ve been enough to at least keep the situation stable. Instead we threw away all those years of money and blood and energy. And just gave it right back to the same terrorists we took it from.

I would go as far as saying that this is kind of a signal of declining US power If this is the kind of thing we would do. It’s embarrassing and it makes us look weak and not committed.

Also, he blames Trump for making the deal to begin with. Another sign of a bad leader, passing blame. You are the president. You could’ve done something different. You chose not to. And then you went about it in the worst possible way. Real leaders don’t shift blame.

There was never really an alternative; sooner or later, the US was GOING to leave the country, and the Taliban (in one form or another) was GOING to retake it. That's how Afghanistan works. You occupy it, but you can't conquer it. Eventually, the locals make it too expensive for you to maintain your occupation, and you leave.

It's called "the graveyard of empires" for a REASON.

The retreat could've been handled better, yes, but it's not like anyone else could've changed the outcome- save, perhaps, Dubya, who could've decided NOT to pursue exactly the same course of action as the Greeks, Persians, Arabs, Mongols, English, and Russians.

Yes- and then foreign occupations eventually introduced a more radical breed of Islamism, and the rest was history. Short of voting against Operation Cyclone, there was no way to PREVENT the rise. Biden's a sad excuse for a human being, let alone a President, but your criticisms need to be fair, or they become meaningless.

He abandoned the most strategic air base in Afghanistan. What an idiot. He left 85 billion in high tech weapons to the Taliban, we then gave them to China and Russia. I can't believe it's almost April and is impeachment hasn't started yet.

It was the worst humiliation ever experienced in the 250 +year history of this country. I bet he tops it before he gets out of office. Maybe we will have to grovel to China because we sent all out weapons to Ukraine.

It was the right decision. It was a shitty way to do it. Not sure how much was Biden’s fault vs generals or officers on the ground. Taliban wasn’t close to invading like the VietCong in Saigon. Why rush it?
