About Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race?

on the positive side, he did make the decision and takes a lot of humility to let go of power, that is good.
But it took 2-3 years too long and has been obvious he struggles frequently. It's frightening to me the govt can operate by controlling a puppet and the left would applaud two... so fragile and weak to be their leader.
To top it off, they appear to be selecting the next person that to me, is more frightneing than the other.
I think it's a positive, but a negative. I'm concerned for the country that so many would position those two in the highest place of power... and think it's good.
Lastly, I cringe at what I read in the news... get a load of this crap off Reuters...
Kamalas staffers worked intently to get delegates lined up, ensuring she is the partys candidate WHILE ENSURING NOONE ELSE CAN CHALLENGE. Explain to me how in the F_____Hell that is democracy and democratic process... what they constantly call out as the risk to trump? These people are so beyond disgusting they truly are flea vomit.
They should have a democratic process... and they admit in public they aren't going to do that... same crap they pulled when trying to get Clinton elected over Bernie.
I couldn't vote democratic party right now for anything, evenwhen I agree with some of their viewpoints, without a total "come to jesus" kinda event. like Biblcal floods, lightning bolt flatting buildings and such... frankly, I'd like to invite the top democrats to one of those carnival dunk tanks and line up our top pitchers to do the throwing.
unbelievable disgust with these people... but that's whom they are, so have to accept reality.
and vote for the other party and hope for best.
humility is if you are aware. buden is not!
Sounds about right.
Although Joe himself has not been capable of governing the country, this fact did not inhibit those around him from doing so in his place.
So in reality it just means whomever replaces Joe will just have some concern for their own legacy those around Joe never did.
That said I don't think Joe himself wanted to do this, and was forced out by the democrat elite worried about their down-ballot (congressional & state races).
So this is a case of the democrat elite realizing everyone knew Joe wasn't running anything and wanted to salvage the situation.
It's unprecedented and shocking. But I don't know what other choice the D's had; he's toast and should never have been put through all of this in the first place.
Between the trial being overshadowed by the assassination attempt on Trump and now Biden withdrawing, in my opinion, Harris is at a major disadvantage. She's a double-minority and there's never been a female president before. Some people will still not vote for a woman, period, regardless of her qualifications. It's going to be a disaster if she chooses a female VP. I'm not being sexist, it's just the way it is still. Moderates came out of the woodwork to vote for Trump when he went up against Clinton, and she stood a better chance than Harris.
I think Trump will win by a landslide, personally, but we'll see.
You're absolutely right that she needs to choose a male VP and he needs to be a centrist, not a liberal, probably from Great Lake region or the South, for widest appeal.
Democratic Party was and is doomed regardless before and after. It might have got worse actually because Biden at least had the excuse of old age and dementia for his incoherence, Kamala is much younger with no mental issues so has zero excuse for her cackling word salads as “speeches” that many times don’t make sense at all. It’s just really bad.

I think honestly it was necessary to him to withdraw.
He showed his limits already during his presidentship so I don’t think he should have been the candidate as first instance. He’s also very unpopular so I think even if he was healthy, things would have been still hard for him.
Then, I think in order to beat Trump would have been necessary to find a younger alternative, that’s NOT Harris, since she’s less popular than Biden.
I think that, due to her lack of popularity and maybe some dislikes in the elite of democrats, she is seen as one who can sacrificed for this election round, that will be won by republicans. Then, next time, there’ll be the REAL Biden successor as candidate, that will be someone like Blinken or Whitmer or someone else… younger and more popular.
what about dean philips, it seems the only legal possibility?
His withdrawal was inevitable. Now he can go to "the home", get spoon fed ice cream, and have it wiped off of his chin.
It cracks me up that he is backing the hyena. She doesn't stand a chance.
I doubt if she will get the nomination at the Democratic Convention. But whomever gets nominated will lose to Trump.
Biden saw Trump get up after being shot and pump his fist in the air shouting "Fight" and he soiled his diaper. He knows if he stays in he will be humiliated. He knows he cannot debate Trump again. The indictments have failed, the assassin had missed President Trump and big donors are cancelling their donations. He is out of options.
He said he was only going to serve one term when he announced his campaign in 2020. We all knew Kamala was his successor. We were beginning to doubt that he would actually be delivering on his campaign promise but it looks like he delayed it as much as possible to collect as much of the republican mud slinging they paid billions to make up as he could. That's smarter than I usually give democrats credit for, if it was on pupose.
you know, it really would be nice if the Democratic Party's puppeteers would allow some democracy, both in the Democratic presidential primaries and the general election. When is the last time the Democratic Party primary voters were able to vote freely? 2008... will they ever have that chance again?
Its cements his legacy as the greatest POTUS of my life time and in the true values of Cincinnatus and Washington.
He can win NOW. But, thinking past November for 4 years sealed his fate. And the media. And the oligarchs. And the corporatocracy. And the dem party apparatchiks. And poor timing.
Biden did right decision with withdrawal. If Harris is a good choice? I don't think so. Trump will be difficult to beat in this election for dems without cheating anyway.
part of the problem, if they could find a decent candidate they could play obama, "vote for lady or minority" but not for this lady.
Yeah as if his brain has thr capacity for such decision, his party told him: "time for you to step out and hit the road joe" yes sir!
Trump is the next president 👍🏻
Democrats will do anything they can to get Kamala Harris out and replace her with someone like Michelle Obama.
Kamala will do just fine. If she does what the deep state wants her to do, she will do just fine. She just needs to keep the border open.
I don't think she stands a chance against Trump :)
The Trump haters would vote for the idiot.
Laughable... Socialism is a weak monster.
I think that was more than overdue. it is very obvious to everyone that Biden isn't fit to make another term. i'm happy for the democrats that at least now they have a candidate that has a working brain.
The Democrats should have the new candidate ready at the same moment the old one steps down. Personally, I would like to see Admiral John Kirby, but his political profile is probably too small.
@DryGermanGuy Trump is a draft dodger
With all his crimes, misdeeds and screwups really the least important detail. His cult minions would only get doctors‘ noticed themselves, to emulate him.
yep!
Man I don't know I just want a president who'll make it so I can afford somewhere to live and not starve at the same time 😔
It's a major blow to the GOP, for a while their entire campaign was that Biden was too old to run again. Now they no longer have that, plus they start personal attacks on a black woman will alienate blacks and women.
Had to happen. He was going to lose for sure. I was worried his ego was going to get in the way though.
And trumps wouldn't?
Great, now can we try NOT talking about this ever again because it is fucking boring and I don't care about Murican politics?
I think in the swing states she won't have more success than Biden would have had.
Should have been done a long time ago.
We warned you a vote for him was a vote for her
But I don't support him or her :)
Like James Vance says Bring them on
It’s hilarious.
Your rapist will lose. :)
@supercutebutt you’re awful salty your primary vote was for nothing.
I voted for Bird Brain. :)
@supercutebutt Yeah, and now he’s dropped out of the race.
Nikki "Bird Brain" Haley.
@supercutebutt that’s hilarious.
It’s logical
I don't care.
