1 yIf the mass media did their job and exposed Biden’s true mental and physical condition to the public a year ago this entire mess could have been prevented. Biden could have been forced to drop out of the 2024 race earlier and the democrats would have had time to campaign a much more viable candidate.
But as usual the MSM acted as the praetorian guard to the DNC and kept Biden’s deteriorating condition hush hush and mocked any criticism of his senility as “maga propaganda” and “far right smears”. And hordes of democrats drank the kool aide for the longest time. They believed admitting anything is wrong with their candidate means they are “giving in” to Trump or some nonsense. So many leftists believe that “admitting fault = admitting defeat”.
And now the chickens have come home to roost. And democrats and the MSM have no one to blame but themselves. Now they are forced to scramble to campaign Kamala Harris who just as unpopular as Biden (according to approving ratings) when they are 3 months away from general election. She’s not polling well against Trump either. But again Biden announced that he we select a “black woman” as his running mate before he even announced any names back in 2020. Is DEI going to save the day when it comes to the election democrats?
Anyway I hope the left learned a much needed hard lesson with all of this. You can’t just push unpopular/incompetent candidates and expect them to win just because “anything is better than Trump”. 2020 has come and gone on that.
But with all that said with all the insanity going on in politics anything can happen from now and until the election. I feel like I’m watching a drama TV series. Also the RNC has a very stupid habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. At least lately they have been more unified and Trump uncharacteristically has been much more disciplined. But still it isn’t over until Lizzo sings.

What perplexes me about the general population, is the continued reliance on usually 3 letter NPC news networks or sources... the type of stuff you'd find on cable television. They can't even recognize when they're being fed a load of bullshit either. That stuff is so thick with propaganda and obvious agenda.
Even people here that I'd expect to at least be partially internet savvy. ... and I'm saying all this because you mentioned how they hid Biden's mental situation. AND YOU'RE RIGHT! It's just hard to fathom because I've been soaked in it before he even picked his diversity hire VP before 2020. How in the world could any of it be a surprise unless you're stuck with cable television and limited internet access in some old folk's home?
Are they phone people? You know those people that seem glued to their phone at every waking minute...
Anyway, I'm giving you a "like" and I also agree that this is a much needed hard lesson for the left... they're getting nothing good done by running on nothing more than "orange man bad" and pushing much more viable candidates and ideas aside for whatever is the most Anti-Trump... as if everything orange man even agrees with is the worst thing ever. I mean he was doing certain things really good... and they can't give him that much. - 1 y
@V_Injector a lot of it is confirmation bias. They get fixated on how Trump is an “orange Hitler”. Some of the then have woken up when the felt the laws of gravity from Biden’s asinine policies (hyperinflation). Democrats are losing black and brown voters because they are through the bs.
Still though people have made Trump out to be some sorta icon of evil in their minds. Seriously what did he do during this first term that was so “Hitlerian”.
My theory is that:
1) these people have issues that have NOTHING to do with politics/trump. But they see trump as some sort of mental “whipping boy”.
2) these people get some or of adrenaline rush and feeling of relevancy over Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Leftist females especially are like this. They bound over the negativity. They obsess over abortion laws like having an unwanted pregnancy is unavoidable. - 1 y
Not trying to sound like a sycophant, but I agree with pretty much everything you just said.
It all reminds me of some zombie movie except the zombies are not exactly brain-dead monsters that just want to eat brains. Instead, these zombies get activated to go full retard on whatever they're told to go full retard on. The masks, Summer of Love, then the shots should be mandatory, let's get gay and trans, oh... Ukraine now, and all the while behind it all is a constant "orange man bad" bass line being fed to them to go full retard on. ... like that abortion thing you mentioned is somewhere in that timeline along with a bunch of other shit... and they went full retard, each time, with every new "current thing." ---just a zombie movie idea...
... but damn, it's been feeling like some sort of reality ever since Hillary lost an election and they started with the Russian asset collusion stuff. - 1 y
@V_Injector I got some hope for the moderates and swing voters.
Personally I think there is a huge growing divide among the democrats. It’s easy to fixate on being radically woke and DEI when the economy is doing well and there isn’t hyperinflation. But when hyperinflation devastates Americans including working class minority voters people get pissed off at all the happy talk. People remember better economic times under Trump.

1 yI voted no and Independent. I'm not a republican so try not to take offence Dems... just my opinion here.
You're party went off the rails in 2016. Look at how fractioned your party is. On the right they have Neo-cons (uni-party) and the America first... maybe some Libertarians that are accepted by the America first... but Jesus butt fucking Christ what is all that shit on the left? You made buddy buddy with a lot of radical shit. Your usual neo-libs (uni-party), and progressives... and then a whole bunch of trash. Your moderates bounced... because it's that trashy.
I love how that party has tried to go from straight up KKK leadership to pretending to fight for racial equality, pushing tranny this and tranny that, and then you still elected an old ass white dude that's done nothing to help your multiple causes... did any of you glance at Joe's history... I don't think even Kamel toe heels up Harris put as many black males in prison... but if you don't vote for him, then you ain't black... okay, sure Jack. I believe that as much as your dealings with Corn Pop.
And I'm not just talking shit here... that party gained all the power and then went full cartoon mode once they got control of the media. They went full retard man... you never go full retard.

The democrats that were pro kkk as you say are what the modern Republican party is today. That party were southern democrats aka Dixiecrats. Parties evolve. When the civil rights movement was past by a Democratic president the Dixiecrats all went Republican. The south flipped from being back then mainly democrat to now republican. You can't say the party today is the same party then. The party that freed the slaves is not at all the party we have today. It's flipped sadly. Regardless both parties are proving to be inept and it is time we need a real option in a third party.

@Friendlybro79 Just pointing out their "progressiveness" in the change, yet they still want to grab the guns even though... the original reason is because they don't want blacks with guns? Funny that... and they still sound racist as shit and don't have old history of electing anyone of color... republicans do. But yeah they changed... I would break it down that maybe some of them did, and that brings me to where I agree 100% with you... there needs to be a 3rd party... or more in my opinion. Dems need to split. Libertarians need to figure out why they got woke leadership that they would rather vote for Trump. Republicans should split too and let the neo-cons and neo libs be their own party... they want constant wars, so let them run on that principal.
What concerns me the most is all the money behind this shit. The ones that get shit pushed like the food pyramid that wanted us to eat like birds. .. or the gay shit.
I mean remember smoking was good for you... until their money backed the wrong side.

1 yNo, not one bit! The guy has some form of dementia, and it was clearly elder abuse to keep him out there in the public eye, constantly humiliating himself, with "and aye, err, I, mmm ohhh anyway, you know the thing”! It was so sad to watch.
102 Reply- 1 y
Indeed it was sad watching. He should have been allowed to finish out term and sunset off into retirement instead of being forced to run for a second term. Now wre most likely stuck with Harris as the Democratic nominee, who polls worse than Biden who was already polling slightly worse than Trump.
- 1 y
So true! President Johnson announced he would not run for re-election in March, giving the Democrats time to get a viable nominee. Biden should have done the same.

1 yI'm not surprised, but I'm disappointed in the aftermath. Kamala Harris is now doing a series of online ads proclaiming that "we have to maintain democracy". What kind of democracy is it that all those people had no choice but to vote for Biden in the primaries, and now the candidate is going to be picked by a small handful of Democratic Party power brokers?

1 yI voted no, it wasn't that surprising as many expected it and even called this weekend as the date, I'd be lying though if I wasn't a little surprised.
Him dropping out just proves so many lies the Democrats have told about Biden's capabilities and health these years, especially these last months.
They're so terrified of Donald Trump and the right they'll literally use anyone who they think has the clout to "save democracy" when it looks an awful lot like subverting it.
83% of the vote and they turned on him the second they felt he wouldn't win.
10 Reply 3.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I'm glad he did, and he picked a good time to do it. If he did it before the RNC, they'd launch a smear campaign against Kamala Harris during the convention. Now they can only do it during rallies and on commercials.
The fact is that regardless of how you feel about Trump he presents a clear and present danger to the way our country is currently run. So much so that if he wins the 2024 election it may be the last election we have for a long time, if not, ever. In the past, a president who made bad policy decisions would be voted out by the next election and the subsequent presidents could fix it. We see that in businesses. The problem is that Trump and his MAGA mob want to maintain power by any means possible. The new SCOTUS ruling allows him complete autonomy to end all elections.27 Reply- 1 y

@Vegasrunner I'm saying that since it isn't Trump versus Biden, Biden's total failure at the debate doesn't really hinder Harris. The thing is, Trump doesn't want to debate Jarris, because he will lose and lose badly if he tries the shit he did small his other debates

It makes sense that the DNC would wait until now so that they could take the nominating process out of the hands of voters and let delegates decide who to prop up as their presidential nominee. The DNC is nothing if not dishonest. It disdains the electorate.20 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The debate settled his fate so absolutely not. He had no chance of winning the election fairly and would have unleashed a potential civil war if he somehow won anyway. This is a step in the right direction, but for a believable win it can't be kamala either.

1 yYes, but also relieved. Despite Trump’s blathering bravado, the GOP is shitting themselves at the Democrats new fundraising numbers and polling that shows Kamala now has all the momentum and can actually beat Trump by an even larger margin than Biden won last time. He was older and why lose an election when u can leave on a high note? People who don’t understand the DNC rules will be mad that he was “nominated” and “endorsed” but the DNC could’ve said no the delegates aren’t voting for Biden at the convention. But instead Biden already said he won’t be in the running. Go look at the rules if ur mad
10 Reply1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. First off why did Joe Biden want to beat Trump and be the next president? Was it because he cares about the United States? No it was not! It was to ensure Presidential Immunity for himself and be able to grant a presidential pardon for Hunter Biden. His terms must have been met for him to step aside. I think there should be a competency hearing now….

Which is why he should have stayed on the sidelines instead participating in the primary only to drop out close to election. Staying on the sidelines would have allowed voters to choose a stronger candidate instead of party leaders choosing a candidate, which most likely will be choosing Harris, a weak candidate who polls worse than Biden.

10 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. A little. Kind of leaves Trump out of options, though. He'll basically need to tell RFK to endorse him now instead of waiting until October as the headlines will otherwise be back to leaving Trump out for a few weeks.
It would be funny if Kamala made a big show of asking RFK to be her VP to see how he would refuse, as that would bring the margin he worked so hard to gather away from Trump instead away from Democrats.111 Reply- 1 y
Your delusional if you think RFK will be endorsing Trump in October. He has no plans of endorsing Trump and is in this race to win. If you would have watched RFK's press conference yesterday, you would have seen him not only attack Trump, but state he's open to talking to party leaders about the Democratic nomination. Your right, RFK would reject to being Kamala's VP just like he rejected the offer to be Trump's, VP. The rejection of being Kamala's VP wouldn't be cause it would take votes from Trump, it's cause she's an establishment hack who has a terrible record as a prosecutor, don't believe, just ask all the black men she disproportionately locked up for minor drug violations. Kennedy is in this to win, and based on polling, besides Michael Obama, is the only candidate who can beat Trump and beats him in a landslide. Part of the reason Kennedy ran for president, is he knew Biden couldn't beat Trump, and both the debate and Biden dropping out proved him right. If the DNC was smart and really cared about beating Trump, they be backing a life long Democrat like Kennedy who beats Trump in a landslide, unlike Harris who polls worse then Biden against Trump. Weather want to believe it or not, Kennedy is and always has been a Democrat. Commenter on my question explains quite nicely how Kennedy is a life long Democrat.
Do you support RFK Jr finally getting secret service protection? ↗ - 1 y
Your an idiot if you believe my support for Kennedy is fake. I truly do support Kennedy not only cause he has a long history of successfully fighting corporate and government corruption, but he's the strongest candidate to beat Trump. If I truly wanted to get Trump elected, I'd straight up support him, not the candidate who beats him in a landslide in a one on one match up. But go on believe your lies about me.

Show me where I admitted to wanting christian nationalism, oh wait you can't, cause I never admitted to it. I always have and always will support the separation of church and state as outline in the constitution, and always have and always will hold the beliefs it's not my place to judge other's beliefs or for my own beliefs on to other's.
What is your general impression of Atheists? have you ever known any? are you one yourself? ↗ - 1 y
Because you know pouring over weeks of conversations you'd find nothing, to support your claim.
I'll quote myself since you didn't click on the link with my opinion. I oppose everything christian nationalism stands for, and hold the belief the that government needs to remain neutral when it comes to religion, and should not ever pass laws based on religious beliefs, no matter what the religious beliefs are.
"As a Christian, I'm neutral when it comes to Atheists and other religions, not up to me to judge what other choose or not to choose believe. " - 1 y
Going to pretend you don't remember, eh.
But again, feel free to explain what you have against Christian nationalism. And as we already discussed it has nothing to do with Christianity. So, to be clear: explain what you have against an unimpeachable moral authority forcing people to go along with a litany of persecution myths to keep that moral authority unimpeachable. Last time you didn't answer. My guess is because you saw any real answer would lead to pointing out "if you believed that you would be devoted to the best chance of defeating Trump." And fake answers would simply fail to consider this summary of Christian nationalism. - 1 y
