I think he should but aparently many other Democrats think he should not. What do you think, and why?
Anonymous(36-45)1 yBiden needs to drop out, he's showing clear signs of dementia, and his family is committing elderly abuse by keeping him in the presidential race. It's not just the the clear signs of dementia, at this point he has no clear path to defeating Trump who is a convicted felon. It just irks me DNC had the audacity to yet again rig the primary, this time for a candidate so bad, they are losing to a convicted felon and conman. I'm not the only one who agrees Biden is showing signs of dementia, sometimes the truth hurts.
@CrazyGirl2
"Sweetie, I REALLY dislike Trump, but he was the one who asked for them BOTH to be tested before the debate. We can dislike a guy who cheats on his wife with a porn actress right after she gave birth to his son, and who is just a gross human being, but still acknowledge that there's definitely something terribly wrong with Biden’s mental state, and Yes, I have a degree in psychology, and I’m just finishing up my externship for my masters degree. So I do know when someone is cognitively impaired. This is why I despise politics, nobody can just make it about the issues, it HAS to be personal. I’m a life long liberal, so are my parents, so are my grandparents. My grandmother was a hippie at Berkley, we’re no conservatives. But there is definitely something wrong with Biden, sweetie. He can’t make a cogent impromptu speech without mumbling incoherently, and ending with “you know the thing”, wandering off, trying to shake hands with people who are not there, trying to sit in a chair that does not exist, or falling down. Then he suddenly delivered a FLAWLESS State of The Union speech? It is not medically possible without serious neurological medications and stimulants. I’m voting RFK! Fck ‘em both!"

Opinion Owner1 yCould possibly be Lewy body dementia, knew someone who had it.
Opinion Owner1 yCould possibly be both Parkinson's disease and Dementia. Wouldn't be in this situation if the DNC held a legit primary instead of changing primary rules to protect Biden knowing majority of voters do not want a rematch of Biden and Trump. Guess the DNC didn't learn their lesson in 2016 when the rigged the primary against Sanders giving us Trump.
Opinion Owner1 yYour are correct in Parkinson's disease causing. My uncle had Parkinson's disease, and later developed dementia, remember something being mentioned about his disease causing it.

But at the same time your country is heading for a civil war, especially if somehow Trump doesn't win. Nobody will believe that, everyone will think the election is stolen again and I have no idea whats next after that.
Replacing Biden with an actually popular democrat candidate at least makes a democrat win believable again. If there is visible organic enthusiasm for that candidate republicans can believe that the election was fair (Assuming no mass scale signs of fraud) and the country can move on.
So I see 2 things that avoid disaster:
- A Trump win
- A properly popular democratic candidate21 Reply

1 yBiden's priority should be do everything to stop Trump and that includes stepping down for a younger candidate.
He should have swallowed his pride and retired years ago and if Trump had an ounce of honour he'd not humiliate America further and pull out too.26 Reply- 1 y
He did. Biden said he was too old to run in 2016 but the party pushed him to do it because he was the only one with the experience and connections to pull us from the brink that Trump brought us to. And he was the most centrist candidate giving him the best chance of actually defeating Trump.
Sadly, in four years the situation has only barely changed. Right wing media has been working tirelessly, worldwide, to keep us on that brink, and has more or less been successful. - 1 y
He wouldn't dare set foot here, we'd chase him with tractors and pitchforks

30 Reply23.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The democrats have a real dilemma. They knew 4 years ago that thay had a mentally challenged candidate for president. They did nothing because maybe all thr others were just as bad if not worse. They chose Kamala to be VP because she was a woman of color but also it acted as a deterrent for using the 25th ammendment to get rid of Biden because Kamala was even more unlikable. Now this is what they are stuck with.
Nobody who follows real news media is not surprised at this. For years Biden has embarrassed this country with his bufoonery and incompetence. His cabinet is also a collection of Affirmative Action rejects. Ironically Marty Walsh who was Sec of Labor was rge smartest of the bunch because he has bailed already. The irony is that he was picked because he represented the mentally challenged community
312 Reply- 1 y
Yes, they knew 4 years ago they had a mentally challenged candidate for president who now is clearly mentally incapacitated. What I do wonder about is why it took them this long to finally notice. I figure they hated Trump so much it provided cognitive dissonance as a cover so they fooled themselves into not having to face the reality. The real problem is they have no one - No One - of any consequence to step up to the plate, take over the torch, and be the standard bearer. It's late in the 4th quarter with 8 seconds left and all they have is a Hail Mary into the end zone. Good luck with that.
No one likes nor would vote for Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention (much less the general election) as she's even less popular than Biden. Big Mike doesn't want run and hates politics. Hillary? Not a chance in Hell. Everyone in California hates Gavin Newscum because he destroyed the state (and I have lived in SoCal and NorCal myself - it's a Hellhole). He's the democratic darling pretty boy so there's the glamor aspect, but is it enough to win him the votes at the convention? Can he win against Trump? They lost a good bet in Tulsi Gabbard when she left the party and publicly exposed their true colors. This is why they're hyper desperate now. They have no one fit enough to compete against Orange Bastard!
- 1 y
So what are they going to do? Stick with this sock muppet with the mental capacity of a child whose Emperor's New Clothes are clearly transparent for all to see? Will he select a new VP at the Democratic National Convention, resign after assuming office leaving the position to the new VP who then selects his/her own VP? Should they invoke a bipartisan 25th Amendment now, get him out for failure to fulfill his duties while Kamala would be in the Whitehouse until the inauguration? If Kamala is ousted as well would republican Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson temporarily be president until the election?
The delegates are beholden to Biden since he won the vast majority of the 4,000 delegates in the primaries. They're pledged, but not necessarily required, to back him at the Democratic National Convention. At least until the first ballot is complete. After that if no one wins on that first ballot, they all become free agents. Some will stay loyal, and some will defect. Today's Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity favoring Trump shot that boat to sh*t regarding the 'convictions' that may never see the light of day. Trump is surging, and every time the Left has used legal lawfare and weaponized the system - NOTHING. HAS. WORKED.
I'll tell you what's going to happen. We're looking at president DJT Round 2. Last time was just regular Trump, but that was not enough Trump. It's going to be Trump to the 3rd Power! Trump is going to go scorched earth this time. - 1 y
Yes, I've reviewed the mission and vision of Project 2025 and 100% support its stated goals. You remember that song "You got another thing coming" by Judas Priest? The left's days are numbered and their parasitic jig is up. The days of deflecting attention away from the crimes they've been, and still are, committing and blaming innocent people of what they are doing themselves are coming to a dramatic end. You're going to witness many famous (but criminal) politicians, celebrities, prominent social/cultural leftist figures, etc... rapidly leaving the country within 24-48 hours when they find out they're next. Woe to those who like in 2016 when everyone laughed at the prediction that Trump would be president, will be eating large portions of Crow with a side order of Humble Pie.
- 1 y
@goaded did you thread it? It says nothing about getting rid of Social Security or giving tax cuts to the 1%. It is a comprehensive plan to lower prices, improve education, make the military stronger and get rid of the deep state. Also deporting illegal aliens and bring back respect for the US on the world stage. It is an ambitious plan but even if only half gets accomplished in the next 4 years it will be a good start
- 1 y
You're responding to something that says "Cut Social Security", not "getting rid of Social Security", and it certainly does demand cuts.
"Rather than extending the TCJA, it would shift to a consumption tax in two steps." - wealthy people spend a fraction of their money buying things, poor people spend all they have - it's a tax cut for the rich. www.taxpolicycenter.org/.../conservatives-lay-out-their-second-term-trump-tax-policy
Maybe you should read it a bit more carefully. You will not come out of it well.
What do you find bad about Biden's extra funding for the IRS to target exclusively people earning $400,000 a year or more? Do you earn over $400,000 a year?

A couple slip ups is entertaining and understandable but watching his performance in the debate was sad. I'm embarrassed for him and his family because that's how he'll be remembered

I don't disagree. The presidents job is demanding enough to make a middle aged man go white.
6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course not. There are no democrats that could run with a higher chance of defeating Trump. The media would not allow it. And switching candidates would throw the democratic party into chaos. If there is anyone they should replace, if they are to replace anyone at all, it is Kamala Harris. But again the only reason Kamala is so unpopular is because the media is actively trying to make her unpopular. Any replacement would see the same treatment, just as a Biden replacement would.

Exactly 50 years experience of doing nothing
- 1 y
@coachTanthony Only if you ignore the things he has achieved. And you didn't answer the question.
- 1 y
I did because at this point 50 years experience of doing nothing and now he's a walking corpse lying that he has done so much means anyone with a pulse would be better.
- 1 y
@coachTanthony Considering Democratic presidents have had to cope with massive obstruction from Republicans for the last thirty years, he's done pretty well getting the Inflation Reduction Act passed, a massive investment in infrastructure that Republican lawmakers who voted against it keep claiming credit for. Then there's the caps on how much people on Medicare have to pay. He's tried to get thousands more border patrol officials and many more judges to deal with asylum claims, but Republicans blocked that on Trump's orders. He's protecting democracy by supporting Ukraine, while Trump would just let Russia keep what they've taken, regroup, and take more. He'd never give another country the green light to invade an ally's land like Trump did.
Face it, he's competent, and Trump would implement Project 2025, turning the US federal government into a political tool for his benefit because he doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself. They're already talking about making him president for life. - 1 y
turn it into a political tool? Biden has already done that with suppressing JFK jr and going after Trump. You must be blind.
- 1 y
@coachTanthony It does not matter what he has or has not done in the past, but it was certainly not "nothing". That said, going forward he would probably be unable to do much more, and that is why we need him to drop out.
- 1 y
@coachTanthony How has Biden suppressed JFK Jr? Unlike Trump, Biden has left the DoJ independent (Project2025 wants to de-fund the FBI and make the whole DoJ into a modern Gestapo), so much so that he didn't fire the Trump political appointee who was investigating his son.
Trump has been indicted and convicted because he committed crimes, no other reason.
The reason Trump hasn't been convicted more is because he nominated people who are willing to delay any cases against him, instead of recusing themselves for that very reason. - 1 y
Didn’t see RFK Jr on the debate stage did you? Pretty sure Trump doesn’t fear him!
- 1 y
@coachTanthony No. Why was he excluded? Trump loves RFK Jr because he wants him to siphon off anti-Trump Republicans' votes from Biden. 20% of Republicans in primaries have been voting for Haley, even after she dropped out. The down side is that Jr might take the anti-vax vote, too.
- 1 y
Didn’t see Biden saying where’s RFK? He should be here lol 😂
- 1 y
@coachTanthony Why? You didn't say the reason RFK Jr was excluded, or why Biden would want an obvious spoiler candidate included. RFK Jr's main donor is one of Trump's main donors, that should tell you something.
- 1 y
Nobody want's an obvious spoiler candidate but if he is such a great honest man and is for democracy then why not? He should be screaming it from the rooftops... let the man debate for DEMOCRACY
- 1 y
@coachTanthony Did Trump want him there? You still didn't say the reason given for excluding RFK Jr.
- 1 y
I agree but he's on the ballot and should get a fair shot at debating both of them.
- 1 y
@coachTanthony What you really need is instant runoff voting for president, with a dozen or so candidates, second place becoming VP. No extremists will win, the people will actually get a president acceptable to most of them. No more "lesser of two evils".
- 1 y
@coachTanthony No, he should not. He would just add crazy noise to an already bad situation.
- 1 y
That’s not very democratic but most liberals want to do away with free speech and embrace censorship of what they deem is bad…. Makes sense
- 1 y
@coachTanthony At some point you want to turn off the loud radio so you can actually have a conversation. Not inviting RFK didn't impair his free speech rights one bit.
- 1 y
He was censored period end of story.

No, it would have been a rare glimpse of humanity. Can you think of one that Trump's ever shown? His ex-wife is buried in an overgrown corner of a golf club for a tax break. He has no respect for other people's sacrifices. He's an adjudicated rapist and convicted fraudster many times over.
Name a single positive Trump personal attribute. - 1 y

I'd like to point out the dishonesty of the fact that people are now arguing over Trump's wife being there which is a completely irrelevant point. But the fact Biden is so old that he can't walk stairs and couldn't do the debate isn't acknowledged and ignored. I will now ignore all of you for being dishonest.

Capping credit card fees.
Negotiating drug prices.
Expanding OT pay.

Pretty much, yes, they did. They were a bit more subtle, there was inflation, and they saw their chance to increase their prices faster, which is why they have record profits right now.
Supermarkets in Germany pushed back on it, to the point of having gaps in the shelves where brand name products had been rather than pay their exorbitant price rises. - 1 y
Stole my thunder, was thinking the same thing. She did everything but pat him on the head while he was staring off into the distance. I'll bet he was wondering where he left his sippy cup. Well, at least he can look forward to getting pudding on Thursday's at the convalescent home soon.
