His poor debate performance showcased his weakness when it comes to putting on a show. And the sad reality is putting on a show means a lot more in US politics than substance and policy successes. He tried to tell people that despite his stutter rendering him a "voice for newspaper" his record is easily in the top ten presidential records but the republican owned media wasn't interested in that message.
